[name]Vivienne[/name]/[name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Viviana[/name] is the next [name]Isabella[/name]. I think it’s going to jump up the charts faster than any other name ever has. I’m already dying to see next years SSA List to find out if I’m right. Without adjusting the numbers of the other names on the list, those 3 combined would have been number 101, that’s after not ever being close before. [name]Vivienne[/name] charted for the first time since 1930, coming in at #532, the highest she ever made it before was 666.
So, do you agree? [name]Will[/name] we see a slew of little Vivis in the near future?
Ohhh, you may be right! Personally I’m not a fan of [name]Vivian[/name] (well, I sort of dig [name]Vivienne[/name]), but I can see the appeal. The only thing hampering this name’s rise to the top are the spelling variations - the same thing keeping [name]Aidan[/name] from the top of the boys list.
Well I just found out that a girl I know will be naming her daughter [name]Vivian[/name] come [name]August[/name] so you may be on to something! Her other daughter’s name is [name]Grace[/name].
Yes thanks to the pitts. I wish they would spell it right though. [name]Vivian[/name]. I love [name]Viv[/name] and [name]Vivi[/name] and always have. [name]Just[/name] get [name]Isabella[/name] out of there. It’s terrible. It doesn’t age well. Its to princessy. It is not a pretty name past 7. I’ll take just about any other name than [name]Isabella[/name].
I really hope Vivis arn’t the future - my name is [name]Viviana[/name] and would hate for my name to become really popular.
[name]Vivienne[/name] isn’t wrong, it’s just the french version of the name. It’s kind of like saying [name]Isabella[/name] is wrong, why don’t they spell it right, [name]Elizabeth[/name] (as [name]Isabella[/name] is just the Spanish/Italian version of [name]Elizabeth[/name]). [name]Just[/name] something to think about.
I would agree. I never thought about [name]Vivian[/name] (etc) specifically, but it has everything [name]Isabella[/name] had. V is a cool letter, [name]Vivi[/name] is a cute nickname, it has a trendy but feminine ending, and was virtually unknown in the previous generation. In [name]Isabella[/name]'s case, Z was a cool sound (even though it’s spelled S most pronounce it like Z), [name]Bella[/name] is a cute nickname, -ella is a trendy ending, and it was so uncommon before it exploded.
I’m thinking of something I read about [name]Isabella[/name] and applying it to [name]Vivian[/name] … I can’t remember which book I read it in, maybe the [name]Baby[/name] Name Bible or maybe another. [name]Isabel[/name] is chic, [name]Isabelle[/name] is girly, and [name]Isabella[/name] trails flowers in its wake. Same options with [name]Vivian[/name] … [name]Vivi[/name] is chic (the chic nickname or stand-alone), [name]Vivian[/name] is elegant and simple, and [name]Vivienne[/name]/[name]Viviana[/name] is for those who want an extra-girly long spelling.
Oh, and [name]Isobel[/name] seems to be the quirky answer to the mainstream [name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name]/[name]Isabel[/name]. What will be the quirky answer to [name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Viviana[/name]/[name]Vivienne[/name] if you’re right? I can tell you right now! [name]Aviva[/name]!
Well I do plan on naming my first daugter [name]Viviana[/name], so maybe you are on to something!
I think your theory is about to become fact and [name]Viv[/name] names are definitely going to be on the rise. Another reason being that [name]Vivian[/name] was originally a male name, and we all know how popular using boy names for girls has become. I personally really like the name, as well as [name]Vivica[/name]. I also remember seeing another post (maybe on this site, I don’t remember) about someone wanting to name their daughter [name]Vivia[/name]. I think that’s really pretty also.
[name]Ah[/name], yep, [name]Vivica[/name] will probably be part of the trend, I didn’t even think of that one! I think [name]Aviana[/name] ([name]Amy[/name] [name]Adams[/name] new daughter) will make a big splash too.
[name]Vivi[/name] is such a cute nickname and [name]Vivian[/name] looks really pretty written down, so there’s definitely potential in it.
My neighbours named their baby girl [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Diana[/name](yes, lot’s of I’s and A’s) and if it wasn’t for the fact that many people call her [name]Fifi[/name](er, dogs name?) I’d say it’s a brilliant choice.
Now that [name]Angelia[/name] [name]Jolie[/name] has named her daughter [name]Vivienne[/name] many people are going to follow suit.
If not first, it’s very likely to make it to the top ten.
You are TOTALLY right and it bums me out bc I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]!
And for all of those who have husbands who are into video games, [name]Vivi[/name] is the name of the cute little black mage in Final [name]Fantasy[/name] IX. You never know when that might win the “naming the baby [name]Vivian[/name]” argument for you.
