Viviana or Savannah?

We are due in [name]July[/name] and are having a girl. We have a 3 year old son named [name]Evan[/name] [name]Michael[/name].

Our girl name, even before we had [name]Evan[/name], was [name]Savannah[/name]. But now I’m not digging it at much. We are a real ‘nick-namey’ family and even have nicknames for [name]Evan[/name] (Ev, E, E-man, etc).

I don’t like ANY possibly nicknames for [name]Savannah[/name] - [name]Vanna[/name], Savy, [name]Savannah[/name] [name]Banana[/name], etc.

We’ve scoured and searched. The one other name that hasn’t been nixed for one reason or another is [name]Viviana[/name]. I love the nickname [name]Vivi[/name].

Thoughts? Ideas? Our last name is [name]Simpson[/name].

[name]Savannah[/name] [name]Simpson[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name] [name]Simpson[/name]

I love [name]Viviana[/name] and much prefer it to [name]Savannah[/name]. And [name]Vivi[/name] is so cute.

Of the two, I prefer [name]Viviana[/name]. [name]Vivi[/name] is a cute nickname!

Some other nicknames for [name]Savannah[/name] would be [name]Sanna[/name], [name]Sasa[/name]/[name]Sassa[/name], [name]Sannie[/name], [name]Van[/name], [name]Vanny[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Anne[/name], [name]Annie[/name].

Another vote for [name]Viviana[/name]! [name]Savannah[/name] is a bit popular for my taste. I did really like it before it took off though.

I love [name]Viviana[/name], too! I think [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Viviana[/name] are cute together and so is the nn [name]Vivi[/name]. I like the alliteration of [name]Savannah[/name] [name]Simpson[/name], but I think [name]Viviana[/name] works better all around. Have you thought of [name]Anna[/name]/[name]Annie[/name] as a nn for [name]Savannah[/name]?

I love the alliteration of [name]Savannah[/name] [name]Simpson[/name] too. Not a fan of any nicknames for it though - not even [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Annie[/name].

Honestly I think the repetition of the ‘v’ in [name]Evan[/name] and the ‘v’ in the two proposed names makes the sibset too matchy.

If however it is a choice between the two the I would have to say [name]Vivienne[/name]/[name]Vivian[/name] as [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Simpson[/name] sounds good but [name]Viviana[/name] [name]Simpson[/name] sounds a bit over the top.

However here are a few ‘v’ names that would fit much better

[name]Ivy[/name], [name]Nova[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] were all nixed by hubby. These aren’t as matchy as some of my likes that were [name]WAY[/name] too matchy such as [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Everly[/name]. LOL! Plus, I’m not too concerned about being a little matchy. They’re different people and will eventually grow up and not be associated with each other as much.

I love [name]Susannah[/name] (and its range of nicknames from [name]Susie[/name] to [name]Zanna[/name]…) but I have never liked [name]Savannah[/name]. Meanwhile, I love [name]Viviana[/name].

I agree with this. I like the sound of [name]Savannah[/name] [name]Simpson[/name], but prefer the name (and nicknames for) [name]Susannah[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t care for [name]Viviana[/name] at all.

I find [name]Viviana[/name] rather contrived, even though I know its a perfectly legit name. I much prefer [name]Savannah[/name] and I think it goes better with [name]Evan[/name]. Another name that came to mind, which you might like is [name]Isannah[/name], maybe nicknamed: [name]Issy[/name] or [name]Sanna[/name] and also, you might like [name]Susannah[/name].
