Vivianie - ok for girls name?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]

I’m pregnant with #2 and not sure whether it’s a girl or boy but struggling non the less with finding a girls name. Our hearts were set on [name_f]Annie[/name_f] but it’s been snapped up recently by a very close friend so now we’re back to square one and I’m finding it so difficult to get past [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. Anyway, big sister is called [name_f]Maia[/name_f] (pronounced MY-a). Was looking at [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and wondered if an ‘ie’ sound at the end would work ie [name_m]Viviani[/name_m] but I’ve read its a boys name. The nn [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] would be cute, No?
As you can see pregnancy hormones are obscuring my ability to make a decision!!. Other names I like the sound of but can’t use for one reason or another are:

[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Livie[/name_f] (but it’s too close to ever popular [name_f]Olivia[/name_f])
[name_f]Sari[/name_f]

Would love to hear your opinions to help with the task. Oh, and middle name will definitely be [name_f]Brigid[/name_f].

Thanks in advance

I like Vivianie and I think it’s usable as a girls name because it sounds more like a girls name than a boys name anyway (even without the e at the end). But I must say I like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] a bit more  Always loved the nn [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] you could use it for both names.

Oh I love [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as a stand alone too!

I think Vivianie is really cute. You could always consider [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] by itself too (she’d fit in with all the Rosies, Lilys and Evies around here).

That said, some would be a stickler and suggest just using [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and call her the above as nicknames. Depends on your style.

Here are some ideas –

Vivianie [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]

or

[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
Celestie [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Ione[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Obelia[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]
[name_f]Ziva[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f]

Vivianie has a bit too much going on, in my opinion. I agree that [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] would be a great choice for you; it’s got the simple and sweet feel that your beloved [name_f]Annie[/name_f] does, and fits much better with big sis [name_f]Maia[/name_f] in my opinion. Plus, [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] [name_f]Brigid[/name_f] is adorable.

I do like Vivianie as it is. If I were in your position, I’d probably put [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] (after the Lady of the [name_u]Lake[/name_u]) on the birth certificate and call her Vivianie / [name_f]Annie[/name_f].

I second what techerma said.

It sounds pretty but undoubtedly will have a lot of misspelling issue.

I do like Vivianie. However it is a bit complex, but so are some other similar names like [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m].

If you want to be on the safe side, go with [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] and the second half of the name [name_f]Anne[/name_f] naturally lends itself to the nickname [name_f]Annie[/name_f] so it won’t be too much of a stretch.

I’ve suggested this name before, but [name_f]Vianne[/name_f] (pronounced Vee-[name_f]ANNE[/name_f]) could be a good solution for you. You could very easily get the [name_f]Annie[/name_f] nickname, while still having elements of Vivianie but with a more intuitive pronunciation

I don’t really like Vivianie. There is just to many things happening in that name and it detracts from what you are trying to achieve. Also, I think most people looking at Vivianie would probably still pronounce it [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] because at first glance the names look very similar. You have to stare at it for a few seconds to see that there is actually a different ending. I much prefer the classic [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. And yes, [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] is an adorable nickname!

This was what I thought as well
