Vivienne Monroe

This is the name we have picked for a girl.

I have received mixed reviews on [name_u]Monroe[/name_u].

Yay or Nay for [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]? Other suggestions for the middle spot? Our last name is Irish and 3 syllables.

Thanks!

I do like this combination, but it’s a bit “old Hollywood movie star”. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know if that bothers you, but my first thought is [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u].

I’m not a huge fan of [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. It sounds too surnamey to me. It takes away from the softness of Vivenne.

I kind of like that description… I hadnt really thought of the name that way before. I knew the connection to both actresses but I hadnt picked the names because of them. I do like the “label” of old hollywood though. =)

I really like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. I think it sounds very old Hollywood which I adore. But then again I really like surnames.

I like it.

I think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] is lovely, to be honest I can’t see the appeal of [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] herself.

Cute  It has a solid feel to it, softened by [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], but she doesn’t seem like she’s someone you could push aside because of [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], which gives her sort of a backbone.
I also love the “Old Hollywood Actress” label.
Congrats on the beautiful combo!

I adore [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] is just ok (generally, I’m not a fan of surnames unless they have family significance). Also, I know a town if [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] is not so nice so I guess I’m not a fan for that reason too. However, I always feel that the middle is a much safer spot for an unusual name so if you really love [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], use it. I would be opposed at using it for a first name (like [name_f]Mariah[/name_f] [name_u]Carey[/name_u] did with one if her twins - I believe named after [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]).

I love [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. I love the nickname [name_f]Vivie[/name_f]. I am personally not a fan of [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. Sorry.

Thanks everyone =)

I love [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. Very Hollywood glam

[name_f]Love[/name_f], love, love [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. Really, really don’t like [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. However, it is just a middle name. If I were to pick, I would go with something like:

[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]

I think it sounds great together. I wouldn’t normally like [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], but I think it works as a set.

[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] is a male name to me, but [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is gorgeous so I can deal. I also thought of [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u].

Thanks everyone!

I like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (from your signature) better.

I like it. But [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] both have a Gone with the Wind connection with [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] (who played [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]). I don’t know if that connection makes me like it more or less though

I kind of love the connection. I knew [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] played [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] when I named my first daughter…so its ok with me to have that connection. Honestly I doubt many my age would even pick up on it though (im late 20’s)

I love the combo and the Gone With the Wind connection. Great name!
