First of all… I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m]. It’s one of the few names that classifies as cool on NB but will still cross over into real life, if that makes any sense.
I voted for ‘None’ but I need to explain. I’m in the US and here little [name_m]Vlad[/name_m] will find his name pretty unusual. Not unheard of, but I doubt he will have any in his class. I sort of have this rule that it one of the names is eye-catching then the other names must be more of a sturdy no-nonsense kind of name. Otherwise each name is competing for the spotlight. Like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] is just too busy [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Lars[/name_m]? [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]? Maybe [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m]. Hmmm… it’s a tough name to pair, but I love it nonetheless.
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] and [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] are too ‘frilly’ (if that can be said of a guy’s name). There are too many syllables, and too many distinct sounds clashing for the spotlight.
If you like [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] I would suggest instead [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]. That rolls off the tongue nicely and is elaborate enough without being suffocating.
Here’s a list of middles that range from short, grand, English, [name_m]French[/name_m] and Germanic.
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] Toliver
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Joel[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wilhelm[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Reinhold[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Reynard[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Piet[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Etienne[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Simeon[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Edmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Nicolo[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Fredric[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Carlton[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]Corin[/name_u]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Julius[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Octavius[/name_m]
If you like [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (or in general, a middle starting with V), I would suggest [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Vince[/name_m], [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Victor[/name_m], [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Velten[/name_m], and [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] (the reason I like this one better is because [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] ends with the IN sound rather than the INE or EEN sound)
[name_m]Velten[/name_m] is also a [name_m]German[/name_m] variation of [name_u]Valentine[/name_u].
If you REALLY love the INE and EEN sound, [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] would be a much better fit.
These are all bold names but I sense that that’s what you like.
I hope this helps!
Thank you both for your comments and to those that vote. I really appreciate it
rainydaygarden: Thanks I see what you mean. The thing is that I have a certain name style and its difficult for me to find this kind of names.
roseofjune: Thanks for the suggestions [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Piet[/name_m] is really lovely.
The list so far is:
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Piet[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]Percy[/name_u]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
Anyone else?
Though I love [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], I’m not crazy about the alliteration with [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m], so I voted for [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_u]Constantine[/name_u].
From the poll I chose [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], but I love [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. Definitely a winner.
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] is such a strong, handsome name!!
Thank you all for your comments and votes!
From these two: [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] & [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], which do you prefer?
It’s close for me. But I think I’ll say [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m].
I love the name [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m], very nice. I wouldn’t choose [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] tho…I’d say go with [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] or Valko, Valko means ‘wolf’ in Bulgarian, my boyfriend mentioned it to me yesterday. So [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] Valko or [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m]…perfect
Valko is just gorgeous! I love it!
I just thought of putting [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] as a middle name for [name_m]Richard[/name_m]?
Oh I’m so glad you like it!! We like to look for names in other languages with similar meanings in English, so when I saw your combos I thought you’d like that alternative I’d say go with [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] it’s unique and “[name_m]Vlad[/name_m]” is so handsome and lovely. [name_m]Richard[/name_m] is nice too, it’s a classic name and makes me think of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Reeve[/name_u]'s character in the 80’s movie “somewhere in time.” Not sure if I like [name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] together though. …
Thoughts on [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Bram[/name_m] or [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]?
I may be bias because my brothers name is [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], but that’s a unique combo, sounds nice.
[name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Bram[/name_m] is fantastic! I love it as much as [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. The deciding factor is which name you would rather use in another combo.
