My favorite is [name]Talitha[/name], pronounced as [name]Tabitha[/name] with an “l.” [name]Matilda[/name] is a name that I like but can’t love, and I would never use it myself. [name]Lillian[/name], along with all of the [name]Lily[/name] variants, feel over saturated right now. [name]Tabitha[/name] is somewhat bland to me; something about that “l” makes it mysterious and lovely. You could call her [name]Tally[/name], Lithie, maybe even [name]Tilly[/name].
I picked [name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name] got my vote but [name]Lillian[/name] was a close second
thanks for comments so far = )
[name]Lillian[/name] isn’t as common where I live - around the 400 mark (lots of [name]Lily[/name]/ Lillies etc etc but I would have her go exclusively by [name]Lillian[/name])
I used to love [name]Tabitha[/name] but its becoming less appealing- maybe I am getting name desensitisation? and at this point would prob chose [name]Lillian[/name] over it as am preferring the sound despite popularity. plus it has more significance as a derivative of [name]Elizabeth[/name] which is a family name on both sides - my mn, mum’s mn , great grans on both sides name etc.
Loving [name]Talitha[/name] too but there are a couple of negative references when googled = ( I am quite sensitive to this ( nb neurotic)
[name]Love[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] but it is becoming really popular in UK now …
So difficult…
[name]Matilda[/name], though I prefer [name]Mathilde[/name].
The thing is you can’t control if your kid goes by a nickname or not, especially once they are older. Are you really prepared to insist she goes by [name]Lillian[/name] when she wants to go by [name]Lily[/name]?
[name]Lillian[/name] ([name]Lily[/name]) is too popular, [name]Talitha[/name] is too trendy. [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] are your best options. I chose [name]Tabitha[/name] because it’s unheard of these days. I think it’s a great name! Also, I agree with the previous poster that you can’t control whether or not [name]Lillian[/name] will be called [name]Lily[/name].
I love [name]Matilda[/name] and really like [name]Tabitha[/name]!
I know a [name]Talitha[/name] who pronounces it Ta-lee-tha and goes almost exclusively by [name]Talia[/name]. This one’s ok, but I personally prefer [name]Tabitha[/name].
[name]Lillian[/name]/[name]Lily[/name] etc seems way overused to me.
I like [name]Matilda[/name] & [name]Tabitha[/name] best! [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Tillie[/name] for [name]Matilda[/name].
[name]Matilda[/name] is my favorite, followed by [name]Lillian[/name]. [name]Talitha[/name] (pronounced [name]Tah[/name]-lee-tha) and [name]Tabitha[/name] do nothing for me.
I would go with [name]Matilda[/name]. You could call her [name]Mati[/name] or [name]Tillie[/name].
