I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] and [name_f]Indira[/name_f].
I would go for [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] (I love the nn options too) or [name_f]Alethea[/name_f]. Elsinore is a beautiful name but I think it would get mistaken for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] a lot. Maybe you could use it as a middle. I also like Perspephone but beware - it means ‘bringer of death’.
As far as the [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] issue goes, I know there is a lot of debate about the meaning of the name.
The ‘bringer of death’ meaning is interpreted from the myth- however, I don’t personally interpret the character in this way. For me, the character of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] has always been very beautiful, bringing the joy of spring to the world. I associate her with the type of strong character similar to [name_f]Tess[/name_f] Durberyfield/D’Urberville, and so this (one among many) meaning of the name would not dissuade me from using it, as I figure if anyone comments it only takes saying the above once to explain the choice!
Thank you for pointing it out nonetheless!!
I like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] though more as a middle names for me. [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Indira[/name_f], [name_f]Astoria[/name_f], and [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f] are pretty names. I also like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] though as its own name, and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] as well. I would like [name_f]Althea[/name_f] but [name_f]Alethea[/name_f] isn’t for me.
My overall favorite would be [name_f]Indira[/name_f].
[name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] and [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] are my favorites here so I voted for them. [name_f]Indira[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f] would also make a beautiful sister set. I think [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] is going to be considered a “[name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]” name for a very long time yet, so I wouldn’t use that one unless you want people to make the connection. Elsinore sounds like “el snore” in my accent, so as much as I want to like it, it’s just really unappealing.
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f], and [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] are my favorite of the bunch; however, they are all strikingly beautiful. [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f] is my least favorite. Very pretty as a name in English , but I feel it’s problematic because it’s also butterfly in Spanish (which I’m sure you know already).
My favourite three names on your poll are: [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Alethea[/name_f] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]. I think they would make a fine sister trio.
