We are due at the end of [name_u]July[/name_u] with our last baby. We like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u] for her.
Our other daughters are: [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. Which one do you think fits best? Last name is one syllable. Thanks
I vote [name_u]River[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Sage[/name_u], but when I put it with the sister names, it doesn’t quite have the same vibe. [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] are all bright and bubbly, but [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is calm and shy. I think [name_u]River[/name_u] has the more spunky feel that fits the sibset.
I 100% agree with @elanorelle ! I love [name_u]Sage[/name_u] but when reading all of the names together, [name_u]River[/name_u] fits a lot better. Both are great choices though
I love [name_u]River[/name_u]! It would most definitely more spunky and refreshing. It also goes well with her sisters! Any ideas on what for middle names because I’m willing to suggest!
With your oldest children’s names, I love [name_u]Sage[/name_u]! It’s short, sweet and fresh.
[name_u]River[/name_u] is a beautiful name too, but more masculine that your other picks, in my opinion.
I love [name_u]Sage[/name_u]! It’s so beautiful! Simple and strong! [name_u]River[/name_u] feels much more masculine, and doesn’t sound as beautiful to me.
I really don’t like either, but I’d go with [name_u]River[/name_u], since it would work better with a one-syllable last name, and it has two syllables, like the other names.
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u] are both beautiful options!
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] feels softer and sweeter, which fits really well with your daughters’ cute and quirky names. But [name_u]River[/name_u] feels funky and feisty, which fits really well too!
So I’m torn… I think I’m going to go with [name_u]Sage[/name_u], by a whisker. Reasons:
It reads less masculine to me than [name_u]River[/name_u] (though both are, of course, unisex), and your other daughters have clearly feminine names;
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]River[/name_u] sound slightly too similar to me, but I have an [name_f]English[/name_f] accent so don’t pronounce my Rs like Americans do – they’re pronounced AY-vah and RIV-ah to me;
This is a really superficial reason, but I like the cadence of a single-syllable name to round out the set, it feels final and complete.
I know you didn’t ask for suggestions, but one name jumped into my head when I saw this so I’m just going to throw it out there: [name_u]Rue[/name_u].
