I would not alter the spelling–it just looks off any other way. That’s great that you can use this name, because of course it wouldn’t work here in the U.S. as you already acknowledged. If I block out the presidential associations, it has a nice sound and I can see why someone would choose it. In fact, I am a bit envious that I can’t use it, haha. [name]Nix[/name] is such a cool nickname.

[name]Nixon[/name] is the best, but Nickson isn’t all that bad either.

It’s not a name I’d choose, but I like that it’s a historical name (reputation notwithstanding), it’s spelt as one would expect, and it doesn’t sound like the parents are trying to create a catchy appellation for a some new pharmaceutical for depression! Also, you don’t have to be concerned half the boys in his class will have the same name.

I’d keep the [name]Nixon[/name] spelling…but I’d like to point out something about [name]Nix[/name]. Here (in [name]America[/name]) [name]Nix[/name] is the name of a head lice treatment. IDK if that is an issue or product in NZ but I just thought I’d make you aware of it.

I like the [name]Nixon[/name] spelling a whole lot better. But if you were set on an alternative spelling, I also voted for Nickson.

I feel that if you’re going to use the name [name]Nixon[/name], then just go wtih the origional spelling. The others seem odd.

thank you for your feedback my husband and I both prefer the original [name]Nixon[/name] spelling as it is anyway, was just really curious what other people thought. I think any other spelling seems to ‘take’ away from the name.
