I’m gonna be the unpopular opinion here and say I prefer [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]! I like the H’s together. That being said, if you’re planning on having any more and don’t have more H names you love, I’d let the H’s go.
Another consideration: while either combo feels like fair game in the UK, if you’re in [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]America[/name_u] I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] makes a nice fresh new name to go with uncommonly heard [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], whereas [name_u]George[/name_u] feels fairly commonplace.
I much prefer the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] but because I don’t love repeated/matching initials, I think [name_u]George[/name_u] goes best with [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. It’s a strong, solid, timeless name, as is [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. They’re lovely together!
As much as I love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], I think [name_u]George[/name_u] is a better match with [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. They complement each other perfectly, so [name_u]George[/name_u] definitely gets my vote!
