Waffling on Names... Again

Heya!
Alright, so I’ve got a new book idea (sort of, still indecisive of the actual plot part of it), and I need a girl’s name that is absolutely perfect. I know; tall order, right?
So, what I’ve got so far is simply a list of attributes for my main character.

*Short & small
*[name_m]Long[/name_m] dark hair
*[name_m]Light[/name_m] skinned
*[name_m]Light[/name_m] green eyes
*17 (I think, still deciding)
*Too “cute” to be considered beautiful
*Parents met in the army. Shortly after she was born, they both went missing over enemy lines (made even stranger by the fact that they were both on a medical base, not front lines)
*Highly intelligent for her age, if a bit naive at times
*Doesn’t catch on to sarcasm well
*Definitely tougher than she looks
*Introverted to a fault
*Doesn’t know when to speak out for herself
*Notices the tiny details of situations, but can’t remember everyday obvious things (e.g. what she ate for breakfast that day; a close friend’s birthday)
*Sometimes painfully clueless
*Surprisingly acceptive of all the crap she has to go through (abusive relatives, drunk foster parents, the crazy scientist rooming in the flat below them)
*Knows how to separate personal emotions and attachments from certain situations
*Very critical, especially of herself
*Sort of gives up on her parents mostly, assuming they’re dead or don’t care about her
*Single child, but has several foster brothers that are equally neglected
*Easily unsettled, but not easily shocked (if that makes much sense at all)
*Childlike, but not childish

So, that’s basically all I’ve got so far. The first name I came up with was [name_f]Clara[/name_f], because that’s been a longtime name love of mine. But I just recently caught up with [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who, and just guess what the new companion’s name is. -_- BBC quite enjoys stealing my names. So, now I need a new name, but I can’t come up with anything that quite suits her like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] does. I’ve tried [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and that doesn’t work at all. I’ve also gone through [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], and [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] (which fits the best out of the rest of them). I know that I definitely don’t want [name_f]Clara[/name_f] to be her name, even though I still adore it, because with the way my mind works, I’ll probably just subconsciously start to make her into the [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who character.
If you care to notice my trend of girly names that end in -a, that would be much appreciated. I do like names like that, but if you’ve got other suggestions at all, everything is great.

Thanks!

She sounds like a really interesting character. What about [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Cara[/name_f], [name_f]Karina[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]/ [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]/[name_f]Sara[/name_f], [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], or [name_f]Christina[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]?

[name_f]Samantha[/name_f] is a good idea @jessamine13! I would not use the nickname sam, especially if she has foster brothers, a refusal of “[name_u]Sam[/name_u]” would set her apart. [name_m]Just[/name_m] an idea

I second [name_f]Karina[/name_f] and add [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Tori[/name_f] (or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], if you must)

Names that spring to mind from the description:

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] maybe)
[name_f]Hayley[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

If her parents are military, maybe they named her after somewhere they were stationed or someone they knew that died? [name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought if you’re struggling for names the conventional way, why not try and create a backstory to come up with one?

More names that end in A:

[name_f]Melissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sara[/name_f]
[name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Lina[/name_f]
[name_f]Tina[/name_f]
[name_f]Christina[/name_f]
[name_f]Dina[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]

I like the suggestion of coming up with a backstory.

Thank you guys so much! One of my friends suggested [name_f]Marta[/name_f], and I instantly fell in love. I think I’ll call her that, and her brothers will probably call her [name_u]Marty[/name_u] to spite her a little. I love the idea of backstory, too! I’ll have to incorporate that. Last name is Russo. Thank you all again!

Okay, here are some ideas -

[name_f]April[/name_f]
[name_u]Marley[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]

And I completely second [name_f]Ella[/name_f].

BTW, how about one of the other variations of [name_u]Clare[/name_u]? [name_f]Clary[/name_f], [name_f]Clarisse[/name_f], [name_f]Cliara[/name_f], [name_f]Clio[/name_f]? Personally, I like [name_f]Clio[/name_f]

Also, if not [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Ketura[/name_f] (the name of my current heroine, but you can borrow it xD), [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Katya[/name_f], [name_f]Katryn[/name_f], [name_f]Katalina[/name_f], [name_f]Caitria[/name_f]? The possibilities are seriously endless
