This is for those in the TTC (or pre-TTC phase too, anyone who is waiting basically) I wondered if you would like to join me in weekly mini-challenges?
There are always way too many different things to focus on improving so I thought it could be a good distraction to start thinking of what we can do to improve our health for a future pregnancy or enjoy this time!
I was thinking this week could be sleep for example. We will definitely have trouble with that if/when we get pregnant and beyond so we could have a week of trying to make sure we get enough sleep every single night!
Next week could be steps (we can each set a slightly challenging but doable goal)?
Other ideas include a week of stretching/yoga, a week of enjoying some alone time, a week of salads for lunch (lol), a week of romantic dinners (wouldnt have to be all week, but just try to schedule a few quality time dinners with your SO) etc etc.
Anyone interested? If so I would love to hear suggestions of other little weekly challenges and we can decide on next week together. I’m pretty decided on doing the sleep one this week no matter what. the idea of going to bed early tonight has me pumped
This is such a cute idea! We can be waiting-buddies haha
My only thought is that it might be hard for everyone to keep up or check in regularly given how busy life is, but I think it would be fun and worth a shot. I love a challenge!
We are currently pre-ttc. We were thinking of starting sometime mid this year, but now that it is actually 2018 I’m not really feeling it. I had trouble with my physical and mental health last year, and I feel like I am still getting myself back together and on track - I don’t want to put a baby in the mix right now… I think I’d go crazy. So ttc will probably be late next year, as we are planning a trip to the US mid-year.
To keep my mind busy so far, I am focusing on goals for this year like replacing the car, losing wait, finishing my diploma, etc.
Hmm… some challenges could be doing various exercises, doing a drawing every day, writing a short story every day, write a letter to someone every day, go raw for a week, etc, etc, there’s so many options!!
I would also be down for this idea, I especially need TWW distractions… (13 days left…13 days left…)
Anything fitness or creativity related I would love!
I agree that we should keep them simple and not too much pressure as we are all busy. I love the creative ideas! You are right there are so many things we could do.
which would you like to start with next week? my vote is for the drawing a day idea, it sounds like the most fun!
This is a wonderful idea! I’m definitely up for joining although I don’t really feel like I’m ttc at the moment as I’m basically not ovulating and it doesn’t feel like anything is changing.
Okay, I’m in! I was hesitant at first because school’s about to start back (I’m yet another teacher… seems to be so many of us!) and that always makes life crazy busy.
But I [name_f]DO[/name_f] need distractions.
I like the suggestion of the drawing a day one to start? I suck at art and would love to get better, plus art is something you can do while sitting on your backside and it is far too hot where I live at the moment to move. I think that’s why I keep ending up googling possible symptoms or checking these fora… like, I could clean the house, but I might melt, so lets stay sitting…
@carysmarie that must be so tough to be going through! But yay for joining the challenge!
@kiriko haha yes then lets definitely start next week with the drawing one. I’m about to be very busy with work as well but this is just supposed to be something to do at the moments where we are obsessing / procrastinating everything else!
I have been doing quite well with my sleep challenge this week so far. Getting 8 and half hours every night at least and trying to focus on being as relaxed before bed as possible. This for me means no emailing/computer in the hour before I go to sleep and doing some breathing exercises as I’m getting to bed.
