My husband and I thought it would be charming to middle name our future children after some of our ancestors. We compiled a list of the most interesting or unique names from our family tree.
What do you think should be the top two for each gender?
[name]Abraham[/name] and Wyley
[name]Hester[/name] and [name]Holland[/name]
Some of the boys names seem hard to spell/pronounce (but doesn’t really matter since it’s a mn) and some of the girls names seem like regular old middle names ([name]Louisa[/name], [name]Barbara[/name]) - not connected to family. I chose ones that really stuck out to me as family names.
That’s a good point. Maybe we should choose the more unique ones since it makes them seem almost more special.
I agree with you guys about:
[name]Abraham[/name]
[name]Aloysius[/name] <- Every generation of my grandma’s family has a younger brother named this. They call him Al for short
Holland <- I love this too, but I’m concerned it may sound sing-songy with our last name of Brand
Louisa
Jemima <- The last name does this one in too. I really like the name and can almost get away from the famous syrup until you throw in the last name. Sigh.
