Ward vs. Eddie

Which do you prefer as a nn for [name]Edward[/name], [name]Ward[/name] or [name]Eddie[/name]?

[name]Ward[/name] reminds me, unfortunately, of wards of the state and warts. [name]Eddie[/name], despite being more obvious, is very sweet.

Personally my favorite nn would be [name]Ned[/name].

[name]Eddie[/name] is a given around where I live as a nn,but in general its unusal enough that it will still be a nice surprise when he is introduced. Not a fan of [name]Ward[/name] but it could grow on me. I really like the suggestion of [name]Ned[/name], that is probably my favorite [name]Edward[/name] nn.

I would go with [name]Ward[/name]. All the Eddies I’ve known have been good for nothing little punks, so I can’t stand that nickname anymore.

[name]Ward[/name] definitely makes me think of wards of state.

[name]Eddie[/name] is really cute.

I like [name]Ward[/name] more than [name]Eddie[/name] (which sadly feels really blah and predictable and generic, although cute), but I’m honestly not a huge [name]Ward[/name] fan, either (for the concerns stated above). I always thought if I had an [name]Edward[/name], he’d go by [name]Teddy[/name].

Good luck!

I actually like [name]Teddy[/name]. But out of the ones you have, I prefer [name]Eddie[/name], because the only [name]Ward[/name] I’ve ever known was a jerk.

[name]Eddie[/name] is adorably cute, I’m not a fan of [name]Ward[/name] at all, it doesn’t feel like a name at all to me, just a part of a hospital.

Definitely [name]Eddie[/name] (or [name]Ed[/name], or [name]Ted[/name]/[name]Teddy[/name]). I don’t like anything about [name]Ward[/name], sorry. =]

[name]Ward[/name] reminds me of [name]Ward[/name] Cleaver, and doesn’t really go with how i pronounce [name]Edward[/name] anyway. i like [name]Ned[/name] or [name]Ted[/name] really, not a fan of [name]Eddie[/name].

I like [name]Ward[/name] more than [name]Eddie[/name].

[name]Ned[/name] is popular here, even stand-alone, but I like it. I like [name]Ted[/name] okay, and not using [name]Theodore[/name] would be a plus for me as I’m not fond of [name]Theodore[/name] at all. But I’d prefer [name]Edmund[/name] to [name]Edward[/name] generally and it works equally well for [name]Ted[/name]/[name]Ned[/name]/[name]Ed[/name].

[name]Ward[/name]. I think it’s different and more interesting than the worn out [name]Eddie[/name].

[name]Ward[/name] is a verb that means to guard or to protect. It basically means protector.

[name]Ward[/name]>[name]Teddy[/name]>[name]Ted[/name]>[name]Eddie[/name]>[name]Ned[/name]

I love [name]Eddie[/name] so much. It’s charming, despite not being as unexpected as [name]Ward[/name] (which feels a little try-hard). I also like [name]Ned[/name] a lot.
