Warm or Cool Names?

I just typed my name and it struck me for the first time what a cool-sounding name it is. Not cool as in hip, but cool as in breezy with a slight chill.

[name_u]Leslie[/name_u] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] —

No lush -a ending name, not [name_f]Lucrezia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f], which feels warm to me.

Instead an “ee” and an “n” ending and a zesty “z” interior. Scottish, pleasant, but not flamboyant or passionate in the least.

[name_m]Brisk[/name_m] rather than voluptuous. Competent rather than superlative.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if others identify names as cool or warm, and if they do, if they prefer one to the other and why.

PS My favorites tend to be warm with a cool tinge, like [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] or [name_f]Fredericka[/name_f], rather than [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] or [name_f]Arabella[/name_f].

Um so this thread is really old but I was just about to ask the same thing!

I do feel like some are cool and some are warm, but I don’t have a preference. Actually I think I like the pairing of warm and cool.

Warm: [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
Cool: [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], [name_u]Willow[/name_u]

I get that! Some names do have a different feel about them that could be described well as warm or cool.
Here are how I would categorize a few names:
Warm: [name_u]Jules[/name_u], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u]
Cool: [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]

Some are harder to place; [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], and [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] are ones I went back and forth on or just had no idea.
