Any particular significance to [name]Stonewall[/name]? [name]Just[/name] curious.
I voted for [name]Abel[/name] [name]Stonewall[/name] for a couple of reasons: (1) [name]Abel[/name] [name]Ervin[/name] flows better than [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Ervin[/name] which is heavy on the v’s and er’s; and (2) [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Stonewall[/name] reminds me of [name]Oliver[/name] Cromwell who is one of my least favourite people in British history.
I voted for [name]Abel[/name] because he’s a little more unheard of compared to [name]Oliver[/name] (who’s been all over the nameboards, and if I’m not mistaken, is quite popular in the UK).
I agree with [name]Mischa[/name], too. [name]Abel[/name] [name]Ervin[/name] has a better flow. [name]OlivER[/name] [name]ERvin[/name] runs together for me.
Lucystone-just think it is a cool, strong middle name.
For the same flow reasons as others have mentioned, I voted for [name]Abel[/name]. (Although I obviously think [name]Oliver[/name] is a fantastic name…)
I was having a hard time deciding, looks like the forum is split too. It is a virtual dead heat
Thanks for everyone for taking the time to vote.
Are you in the US? I think [name]Stonewall[/name] is strongly associated with the Confederate side of the Civil War which might be a drawback
I have the same reservation about [name]Stonewall[/name], even if you have those (and I think it’s clear what I mean) tendencies, it might not be fair to pass them along to your children in such a permanent way. I know that I would be pretty mortified to have a name that even seemed to be honoring a well known bigot.
