Waverly, indecisive?

I’m starting to really like [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]! First off I think of waves, motion, and spontaneity which are fun connections. But then I started to think about wavering, like between choices, etc.

So here’s the question: Does [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] sound like the name of a person who is indecisive?

Well, yeah, kind of. To me anyway. It’s not the most decisive sounding name. [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] sound decisive with their consonants and admirable sounds and [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] sounds a bit meandering.

But it also reminds me of [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] crackers whose buttery taste I always enjoyed and [name_m]Sir[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_u]Scott[/name_u] and a character I played in our HS play senior year, so I don’t simply think wavery when I think of it.

Miranda will always remind me of [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] rights and yeah that sounds decisive, like you’ve probably made some bad decisions. Lol about the crackers. Made me think of Chicken in a Biskit crackers for some random reason.

Oh my gosh, yes, old cracker brands! I don’t think of rights with [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] so much as the children’s books by [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Enright and [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]’s [name_f]Miranda[/name_f].

I didn’t make any of those connections/associations until you mentioned it. It’s a lovely name!

Kind of, but for a different reason – it reminds me of an adverb. It doesn’t feel very grounded. But it wouldn’t be enough to put me off from the name!

No, I definitely don’t tie indecisiveness to the name [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]! [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] is beautiful, mystical, and unexpected.

I do think of it a bit, but I still think it’s usable!

Not at all! It makes me think of waves and the ocean and also… White [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]! Thanks to [name_m]General[/name_m] [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] lol. Both are nice associations imo; I would love to meet a little [name_u]Waverly[/name_u].

Maybe… in the same way the name [name_f]Faye[/name_f] makes me think of some one who’s not quite trustworthy. But all the other associations are so positive that the one negative one gets over ruled. I think it’s a great name!

Ultimately I suppose [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] does have an indecisive vibe and I get the wavering between choices but it wouldn’t stop me from using a name. I’m indecisive but my name is [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] which is a solid choice doesn’t shout indecisiveness so I don’t think a name will necessary destine your child to a life of being indecisive! Also I don’t think being indecisive is that negative is not like you associate the name with being deceitful or whatever. I think as name enthusiasts sometimes we are a bit extra when it comes to names and I think this is one of those times if you love it go for it.
