Right, I’ve been thinking of ways to honour my sister [name]Maria[/name] [name]Louise[/name]. She’s my best friend, biggest support and has been there through some really tough times! But I can’t really think of anything - I don’t want to use [name]Maria[/name], [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Louise[/name] and I don’t want to use [name]Malou[/name] (a pet name of hers). So do you have any ideas?
It doesn’t necessarily need to be overly obvious! She’ll still get it.
What a lovely idea! It’s always so nice to have those extra layers of meaning in a name. Have you thought of ‘[name]Mia[/name]’ - a pretty diminutive or ‘[name]Molly[/name]’ which is sweet, as in [name]Mae[/name]. [name]Louise[/name] could be [name]Louella[/name], [name]Louisa[/name] or [name]Lucy[/name].
[name]Mara[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] - from which [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Maria[/name] were derived. Mariamne is related.
[name]Mariska[/name]
[name]Ria[/name]
[name]Maria[/name] L. - [name]Mariel[/name], [name]Marielle[/name]?
[name]Marisol[/name]
[name]Mirabel[/name] isn’t related afaik but it’s pretty and has a close sound.
There’s tons of gorgeous L names if you just want to initial match. However, I admit I like the idea of using, instead of an “L-name,” [name]Elle[/name]. [name]Miriam[/name] [name]Elle[/name] sounds good to me.
Have you thought about using her birthstone or birth flower? I suppose that depends what it is.
Her birthstone is [name]Diamond[/name], and I don’t really like that as a name. And her birth flower is Sweet Pea, which might be a little weird as a name Sweet idea though! Might look into it some more, if it’s possible to honour other family members that way!
Thank you all for the great suggestions. Keep them coming!
Lots of great suggestions already. I’m terrible at this sort of thing, but the one that popped into my mind is [name]Mariella[/name], which is so lovely and gorgeous and unique and seems to honor [name]Maria[/name] [name]Louise[/name] quite well. Good luck!
My grandmother’s name is [name]Mary[/name] [name]Louise[/name], lol. I have thought of [name]Marion[/name], [name]Maribel[/name], [name]Marielle[/name], [name]Mirabelle[/name], [name]Miriam[/name], [name]Marianne[/name], [name]Moira[/name] as potential middle names to honor my grandmother.
