Ways to get too Allie?

Other than [name_u]Allison[/name_u], what are some ways to get to [name_u]Allie[/name_u]/[name_f]Ally[/name_f]? And which spelling do you like better, why? thx

[name_f]Alannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Alisha[/name_f]
[name_f]Alissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]

And I think I prefer [name_f]Ally[/name_f] but it just depends on the full name - if it had an e in it, then probably [name_u]Allie[/name_u].

[name_f]Alexa[/name_f]
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] ( would probably end up with [name_u]Alex[/name_u], more than [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. )
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alanna[/name_f]
Alannis
[name_f]Alyse[/name_f]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]
[name_f]Alena[/name_f]
Aloise
[name_f]Alaina[/name_f]

Mostly repeats, but all great names
[name_f]Alexa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u]
[name_f]Alana[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alesia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
Alice

My daughter [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] is called either [name_f]Ally[/name_f] or [name_u]Alex[/name_u] by family members. I love both nicknames so much that I can’t decide which to choose when she goes to school.

Of the names up here I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] best, most classic. I also have a soft spot for [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] and [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f], but I know they work a little dated these days (I don’t think horribly so though).

[name_f]Althea[/name_f] and [name_f]Alondra[/name_f] come to mind too.

I like [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], and [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]. As for the nickname, I prefer the spelling [name_u]Ali[/name_u]. It looks more “nicknamey” to me than [name_f]Ally[/name_f] and [name_u]Allie[/name_u].

unless the sound of the name is actually the same as [name_u]Allie[/name_u], dont use the name.

dont force [name_u]Allie[/name_u] out of [name_f]Alethea[/name_f] - they are two totally different sounds, one is [name_m]AL[/name_m] and the other is ALL/[name_m]AH[/name_m]-L

[name_f]Alivia[/name_f] nickname [name_u]Ali[/name_u]

My name is [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], and most people call me [name_f]Ally[/name_f]. Obviously, I’m a little biased, but [name_m]Ive[/name_m] always preferred [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] over [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] just seems incomplete to me.

People have thrown a lot of great options out. I like [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]. You can probably get [name_f]Ally[/name_f] out of most [name_u]Alex[/name_u]- names. [name_f]One[/name_f] that is virtually unheard of is [name_f]Alexandrina[/name_f].

You could probably get [name_f]Ally[/name_f] from [name_f]Aliza[/name_f].

I had a friend named [name_f]Alabama[/name_f] who went by [name_f]Ally[/name_f], but thats a little out there.

I’m called [name_u]Ali[/name_u], and my formal name is [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]. I like it, because there are tons of n/n options ([name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], etc…) if I ever chose to go by something. But some other good [name_m]Al[/name_m]- names:

[name_u]Alexis[/name_u]
[name_f]Allyse[/name_f]
[name_f]Alliyah[/name_f]

and I like [name_u]Ali[/name_u] or [name_u]Allie[/name_u] best, even though I’m biased. I feel like [name_f]Ally[/name_f] just looks like the word “ally.” Good luck!

I know a little girl named Alessandria who goes by [name_u]Allie[/name_u].

My sister [name_f]Alice[/name_f] goes by [name_u]Ali[/name_u] once in a while. I prefer [name_u]Allie[/name_u] to [name_f]Ally[/name_f].
All the other [name_u]Allie[/name_u]'s I know are [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]'s or [name_f]Alia[/name_f]'s.

Allifair

It was the name of one of the Mc [name_m]Coy[/name_m] daughters, as in the Hatfield/ Mc [name_m]Coy[/name_m] feud.

I think it is a beautiful, unusual way to get to [name_f]Alli[/name_f]. I have also seen it spelled Alafair, but think the other spelling is prettier.

This one is pretty out there, but I have a friend with a daughter called Alabaster…[name_u]Allie[/name_u]…
