Ways to honor Gloria?

Ok so my grandmothers name is [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] and I’ve really been wanting to a way to honor her. I just don’t really like the variations of them ([name_f]Glory[/name_f], [name_f]Gloriana[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]) so is their any other way to do it? Many, many, many years away from expecting, just thinking of combos I can add.

Some girl names I don’t have combos for-
Eurus
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eupraxia[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]
[name_u]Zola[/name_u]
[name_f]Dinah[/name_f]
[name_f]Asenath[/name_f]
[name_f]Selene[/name_f]/Selena
[name_u]Peregrine[/name_u]
Elphaba (would only use this as a middle but still gonna add it)
[name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]
[name_f]Inga[/name_f]

Thanks!

How about [name_f]Ria[/name_f] [name_f]Eupraxia[/name_f]?

You can honor your grandmother without using her first name. Did she have a favorite flower, color, gemstone, season? Did she have an occupation that would make for a great name? What about the town where she was born or got married? Did she have a favorite author, poem, play, song?

Well she her favorite color is green (like me!). She was raised in Puerto [name_m]Rico[/name_m] and [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m]. I believe her favorite gemstone is an opal (again like me) but one thing I know for absolute sure is she loves bears. I’ve been thinking about [name_f]Ursa[/name_f] (meaning little female bear) but that’s all I can think of. I just wish there was something more obvious. I have her middle name in a combo which I love but she’s not a huge fan of her middle (still put it in though)(could be because it’s pronounced in Spanish instead of [name_f]English[/name_f] though). I did like the suggestion @18_25 made of shortening it to Ria though.

You could use Glorielle, [name_f]Lori[/name_f] or [name_f]Ria[/name_f].

Other forms of [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] are Glora/Glaura, Gloriosa and Gloribel.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Ria[/name_f], which you could also spell [name_f]Rhea[/name_f]. You could also shorten to Glo/Glow.
Names with similar endings are [name_f]Floria[/name_f]/Flora, [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], Deloria, [name_f]Valoria[/name_f], [name_f]Toria[/name_f], [name_f]Adora[/name_f], [name_f]Onoria[/name_f].
Names with the meaning “glora” are [name_f]Adora[/name_f], [name_f]Clea[/name_f], [name_f]Cleona[/name_f], Fola, Ladina, Laurier, Oca, Raluca, Sobeska, [name_f]Tehilla[/name_f] and [name_f]Thecla[/name_f]/Thekla.
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] would also be a lovely option.

Ria, [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_u]Glow[/name_u] came to mind!

Coraline [name_u]Glow[/name_u]
[name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] [name_u]Glow[/name_u]
[name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f]

@DayJoy I really like Onoria, Adora, and the alternative spelling to Ria which could honor me in a way too (my middle name is Rya pronounced RYE-UH). But I do have a question: is Laurier pronounced like the word lawyer or lore-ee-er? Also am considering Opal cause it’s also the birth stone for October the month I was born in

@Greyblue I like Beatriz Glow! It sounds snazzy. But Aria is too popular in my opinion.

What about [name_f]Eucleia[/name_f]? It means “glory” and reminds me of Eurus and [name_f]Eupraxia[/name_f] from your list! It also has the nn [name_f]Leia[/name_f].
[name_f]Eucleia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]
[name_f]Eucleia[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Eucleia[/name_f]

Some synonyms for “glory” are “honor”, "praise’
[name_f]Annora[/name_f] ([name_u]Honor[/name_u])
[name_f]Merida[/name_f] (one who has achieved a place of honor)
[name_f]Titania[/name_f] (title of honor)
[name_f]Athalie[/name_f] (God is praised)
[name_f]Odelia[/name_f] (I will praise the [name_m]Lord[/name_m])
[name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]

Odelia [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]
[name_f]Titania[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Annora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]
[name_f]Annora[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Athalie[/name_f] [name_f]Annora[/name_f]
[name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Athalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] [name_f]Athalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Merida[/name_f] [name_f]Asenath[/name_f]

What about [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Honoria[/name_f]?

This may not be helpful but I like [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] on its own. It’s sweet and vintage. [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is pretty!

@jonquils I like Orla Glow! I actually have the combo Casper Orla Helene on my list.

@TeaJay I love Eucleia it sounds so pretty and I love the nickname Leia (Star Wars!). It sounds a lot like Eulalia (which happens to be her middle name). Also LOVE the the suggestion of Odelia because it would honor my great grandmother Delia (pronounced DEH-LEE-AH in Spanish). Merida is cool but it’s also the name of the Pixar princess in Brave (I love the movie but that’s all I would think about). Annora is think is very pretty. I really like the combo Annora Selene though; sound sounds very elegant.

I love the suggestions @TeaJay made. [name_m]Just[/name_m] came to say Laurier was my great grandfather’s name and it was pronounced [name_u]Lorrie[/name_u]-er. He went by [name_m]Larry[/name_m] though. I’ve also heard of it being pronounced Laurie-ay.

Glad you like some of the suggestions! I know about [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Merida[/name_f] but I still like the name so I thought I’d suggest it.

Thanks!
