Ways to honor?

[name_f]My[/name_f] SO’s middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but she goes by [name_f]Beth[/name_f] and my mom’s middle name is [name_f]Beth[/name_f], so naturally, we want to find a way to honor them using some variations of [name_f]Beth[/name_f]…

One problem, I hate the name [name_f]Beth[/name_f]! I don’t like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] either. It will likely be a second middle name, so it can’t be too long.

Names without an honoring name that we like so far are…
Firsts…
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]

Other possible middles…
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_u]Rain[/name_u]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]

Any ideas on how to incorporate / honor ‘[name_f]Beth[/name_f]’ with these/other suggestions?

Hmm. That’s kind of rough. Are there any other [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nicknames you like? [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]? Other [name_f]El[/name_f]- names like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]? [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] kind of works. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is a name that comes from [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]–do you like any of its variations?

[name_u]Love[/name_u] your list, by the way.

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]/[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]

*[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]

*[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] is my favourite combination. If it was me, I’d use [name_f]Belle[/name_f] to honour [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] because it is a really nice sounding name and means beautiful in [name_m]French[/name_m].

If you don’t like the name [name_f]Beth[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] what about [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]? (I used to have a good friend named [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] but sadly we lost touch I don’t know how the last time I saw her was around 8 and I’m now 15)!
Your list is very cool though! I love the name [name_f]Thea[/name_f] from your list.

Thanks geeknamezyo! I think I’d like to stay away from [name_f]El[/name_f] beginning names because my moms middle name is simply [name_f]Beth[/name_f], not [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and I’d like to make it not be such a stretch. [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is kind of cute though… Maybe? Or is it too old?

Would [name_f]Belle[/name_f] really work as a way to honor? I think I like [name_f]Belle[/name_f] except I can’t come up with anyone combos.

Not a fan of [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] either… The entire [name_f]Beth[/name_f] sound I don’t like lol… Might be a problem

I would try to find some other common ground to honor them besides the actual name. Fave flower or born in the same month or something like that. Otherwise [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] is very nice.

Try the [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] spelling or [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] would be a good way to honor both ladies.

[name_f]Christine[/name_f]
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]

[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Elise[/name_f]?

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] as a compromise. It’s more fresh than [name_f]Beth[/name_f] but will totally honour them both.

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]

[name_f]Bette[/name_f]
[name_f]Bettina[/name_f]
Any name that starts w/‘B’, as the meaning of [name_f]Beth[/name_f] relates back to the second letter in the alphabet.

Thanks everyone. I think [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] or [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is the best I can do. Maybe honoring them is out :frowning:

What do you think of [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elisabeta[/name_f]? The former two could be cute in a combo, and the latter has tons of nickname options. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are sweet and neither are dated, in my opinion. Ideas:

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

[name_f]Elisabeta[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeta[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Elisabeta[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeta[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Good luck!

[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_f]Briony[/name_f]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Becca[/name_f]
[name_u]Brett[/name_u]
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f]

[name_f]Effie[/name_f]? Short for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
