Definitely Maeve or Maeva! How creative!

[name_u]Matty[/name_u] could work as it has the [name_m]Matt[/name_m] plus the -y ending/ ee sound that [name_u]Avery[/name_u] does and as a bonus is 5 letters like [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. But if your brother goes by [name_m]Matt[/name_m], then it would likely be too close.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is great!!

[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] + [name_u]Avery[/name_u]

Having put NB’s Advanced Search through many permutations :face_with_monocle::

[name_f]Maurelle[/name_f] carries Matthew’s M and Avery’s meaning.

[name_u]Dory[/name_u] has Avery’s ending and means [name_u]Gift[/name_u] of God like [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]. Likewise, if you were looking for a very brave middle, there is Farrydae which contain’s Avery’s ‘ry’ and is linked through meaning and imagery to both [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. (I’m won over by this future child being a ‘gift of the fairies’ - sharing a name meaning with one uncle & the fairies passing this honour to the other uncle who rules the elves!!)

There are many names beginning with A for [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and containing Matthew’s th. Here’s some I liked a lot:

[name_m]Aither[/name_m] (“spirit of the air”)
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Agathi[/name_f]
[name_f]Alethia[/name_f]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] (“with healing power”)
[name_f]Anthemia[/name_f] and [name_m]Anthem[/name_m] (sharing so many avuncular letters!)
[name_m]Anthony[/name_m]
[name_f]Ardith[/name_f]
[name_f]Arthelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Arthur[/name_u]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]

Picks from A for [name_u]Avery[/name_u], containing w from [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]:
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_f]Anwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwen[/name_f]
[name_u]Arrow[/name_u]
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f]
[name_m]Ashwin[/name_m]
[name_u]Atwood[/name_u]

Marivale as a brave middle or a first with nn [name_f]Mary[/name_f]? It has the beautiful meaning of “valley near the lake”.

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] for [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Vera[/name_f] or [name_f]Verity[/name_f] for [name_u]Avery[/name_u]!
I also like the [name_u]Maven[/name_u] suggestion.

Sorry the suggestion for the very brave middle is [name_f]Faerydae[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] edit didn’t save.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is so beautiful. It is soft and strong at the same time. I think you nailed the assignment of combining the two names wonderfully.

[name_f]Mavery[/name_f] is a name!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] works really well to combine the two!
