Hello everyone! I would like to know your honest opinions about the name [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. If you met a little girl named [name_f]Helen[/name_f], what would you think? Is it too outdated? Tell me your thoughts please.
I love [name_f]Helen[/name_f]! I think it’s adorable for a little girl & also a strong name for when she’s grown up. I worked in an elementary school last year and knew two girls named [name_f]Helena[/name_f] (no Helens though). I don’t think it’d sound outdated because so many similar names are popular right now (Ella, [name_f]Bella[/name_f], etc.)
I grew up with a girl named [name_f]Helen[/name_f] (would have been a late 90s baby) and she wore it well. I think it’s a subtly pretty and strong name. I prefer [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], but that’s a different vibe.
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] was on my name’s list for forever, and though my husband doesn’t love it, I would still consider using it if he changed his mind! I love the classiness of it, the fact that it has so many amazing namesakes in history and literature, and I think it’s underused! The meaning is also pretty, and it has so much history.
Oh, and the nickname [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is precious!
It’s okay, but I like [name_f]Helena[/name_f] more.
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] would be really cute and unexpected!
I like it! The [name_f]Helen[/name_f] I know is in her teens and she wears the name wonderfully. I think it could totally work on a little girl today!
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] is a stoic but perfect name. I say perfect because it has the timeless quality, the history & intrigue, association with great beauty, not commonly seen amongst the younger generation yet not a clunky name, and I could go on and on…
Needless to say I would not mind being named [name_f]Helen[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Helen[/name_f]! I don’t think it’s outdated. It’s ready for revival and would be really cute for a little girl
I like [name_f]Helen[/name_f]! I don’t find it too outdated. I think it’s one of those classic, vintage names that is ready for a revival. It’s easy to spell and easy to say. Most people have at least heard of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] before.
I love [name_f]Helen[/name_f]! It’s my favorite aunt’s name, she’s the best.
I adore [name_f]Helen[/name_f]! If I met a little girl with the name, I’d honestly be thrilled. I think it has the sweetest old-fashioned charm — fresh, classy, and totally ready to make a comeback.
I think the sound is lovely and sweet, but I do think of old ladies. It’s a very staid name, IMO, and kind of hard to imagine on a little girl, or particularly a teenager. That said, with little girls being named [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], etc., a teenage [name_f]Helen[/name_f] would probably seem normal or cutting-edge in ~15 years.
A few years ago I knew a wonderful 8-year-old girl named [name_f]Helen[/name_f] - [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Regina[/name_f]. It suited this lovely bright little girl perfectly.
I love Helen!! I think many people outside of the namenerd community might find it dated, but I personally think it’s a great time to use it given that there aren’t as many as there used to be! To have both history and lightness I think is a rare combination of qualities and [name_f]Helen[/name_f] pulls it off perfectly
I would be pleasantly surprised to see it on a little girl! I think it’s a name that’s about ready to come back into style. While I am not in love [name_f]Helen[/name_f] (I prefer [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], or Helene), I really like its self-contained style.
How cute! A little girl called Helen sounds like a dear!
