Hello, I’d like to get people’s thoughts on [name_f]Amandine[/name_f], is it dated, and what are some Mns for [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]. [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] is a nod to my tata(grandpa), and uncle, both who are named [name_m]Armando[/name_m]. As well to my mom, who was supposed to be named [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]. TIA!
Boop!
I don’t think it sounds dated to me at all, in fact, it sounds more modern to me than [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]! I have always loved [name_u]Mandy[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] (It reminds me of the cute [name_u]Julie[/name_u] Andrews book), but there is also the equally adorable [name_f]Dina[/name_f]! Aww, such a sweet honour to so many people! Perhaps a short middle? Not sure what your style is.

Also want to second the suggestion of [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]!
I honestly don’t know my naming style either since it changes hourly and [name_f]Dina[/name_f] is such a cute nn.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] stopping by to say I LOVE [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]! I have a friend who’s young daughter has this name and I don’t think it sounds dated at all. Where I live, (Southern US) it’s so rare that it’s not connected to any particular era, IMO. Nicknames could include anything from Dinny to [name_f]Ama[/name_f] to [name_f]Amy[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Annie[/name_f] could work.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] this as an honor name for [name_m]Armando[/name_m]!
I don’t like it, sorry.
I love [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]. It doesn’t seem in any way dated to me, but not sure how it is in a French-speaking country.
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f] is intriguing and sweet!
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u]
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
It’s not dated at all in [name_f]English[/name_f]! It’s sweet and surprising, it makes me think of marzipan fruits because of the “almond” connection I guess.
In [name_f]France[/name_f], it is quite dated (it peaked there in the 1980s, having not been recorded in the stats at all until the early 70s) and it’s on a sharp decline now. [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] feels fresher. But [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] is sweet and feels like a better fit for your honor names.
I’d definitely go shorter for the middle. [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_u]Lux[/name_u] sprang to mind, but I love [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] [name_u]Lark[/name_u] as well!
Ooo I like [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]! I’ve never heard of it before. It reminds me of [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] which I also like, so I quite like it
I looooove this name, and I think both [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] and [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] need to make a comeback. I think [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] will in coming generations. It’s such a cool name with a unique sound. There’s really nothing like it.
For a middle name I think something classic and [name_u]French[/name_u] would be the tops.
