[name_u]Baby[/name_u] is due any time now and we love the name [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] honors a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] on my side and a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] on hubby’s side. [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] has been debated this entire pregnancy (Alicia vs Alyssia) but we’ve decided this spelling honors her [name_f]Indian[/name_f] heritage, while still being [name_f]English[/name_f] (hubby is [name_f]English[/name_f], baby will be raised in England).
What do you think of this name? Is it as beautiful as we think or too “trendy”? We also are worried about mispronunciation- we think it’s pretty clear this name is uh-liss-ee-ah, do you agree?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] will be hard to match with a sibset going forward? We love [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u], [name_u]Nico[/name_u], and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] for boys, but are less clear for girls. Currently we like [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], but nothing has really stuck.
I think Alyssia might get the ah-liss-ah pronunciation pretty often, just because Alicia was such a popular name in the 90s/early 2000s. That said, I think it works with your other names!
I think it is a very pretty name. It’s like [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] but with a little spin on it. I think the pronunciation seems pretty intuitive, especially since the name [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] is common.
I think it’s pretty intuitive. [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] could get the uh-leesh-uh pronounciation pretty often, but [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] is definitely uh-liss-ee-ah for me. [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] feels a bit dated to some but I like the fresh twist on it. I think [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] works fine with your list!
I think [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] could be mistaken for uh lee sha as that was a very common name whereas I’m assuming you want the name to be pronounced A liss see ah (like Alicia) so you may run into some pronunciation issues but aside from that I think the name is pretty and not trendy/dated.
[name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is pretty!
I can see [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] with all your boys names and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] fit well too
I’d suggest [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] and [name_f]Winona[/name_f] came to mind
Alyssia’s not too trendy at all, I find it elegant and unique! The middle name [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] gives it a fresh, springlike feel as well. I think the pronunciation is pretty intuitive - you might get an ah - LEES - ia every once in a while, but most would probably pronounce it as you do.
This name works well, and I would pronounce it as you do. I think the [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] spelling makes clear the pronunciation that you want, whereas [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] has 2 pronunciations. I don’t think it’s too trendy. It sounds like you’ve cleverly come up with a name that works very well, you both love, and meets all your criteria. Well done!
I also think it will easily match with lots of sibling names, and certainly be fine with those that you mentioned. Best wishes for your soon-to-be new baby!
[name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is very pretty! [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] is very hard to find a spelling for that will be pronounced properly, but I think that [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] is very straight forward and you will have to trouble with that. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is very pretty as well
I actually knew an [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f]! She said her name…. Oh, now I don’t remember… I think it was ah LEE shah, but it could have been ah LEE see ah too. I always found the spelling to be pretty, and didn’t realize [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] was the expected spelling until I grew up, lol. [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] or [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] would both be gorgeous!
For what it’s worth, I think all your names go well with her.
