[name]Lucienne[/name] - interesting, but it’s always sounded too close to [name]Lucian[/name]/[name]Lucien[/name] to me. I like [name]Luciana[/name] or just [name]Lucia[/name] so much more. I prefer [name]Lulu[/name] or just [name]Lou[/name] to [name]Lucy[/name].
[name]Hollis[/name] - too masculine for me, but I think [name]Holly[/name] and [name]Holland[/name] are cute.
[name]Indigo[/name] - eh, I’ve never really seen the appeal. [name]Indie[/name] is a cute nn, but I don’t love it.
[name]True[/name] - love [name]True[/name]! I read a story about a [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], nn [name]Truth[/name], once, and I thought [name]Truth[/name] was so cool. I think [name]True[/name] is even cooler–more streamlined, without the old-lady vibes of [name]Ruth[/name].
[name]Peridot[/name] - interesting! I like the idea and the sound, but like most gem names (excluding [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], and [name]Opal[/name]), [name]Peridot[/name] takes on a bit of a stripper feeling to me, sorry! Halfway it doesn’t, and I think it’d be a REALLY cool choice with an amazing sound to it, but the other half sees the stripper thing right away. I feel the same way about [name]Emerald[/name] and [name]Amethyst[/name]–I want to like them, but they just feel too stripper-like for me. I think [name]Peridot[/name] is definitely more usable, though!
[name]Zoie[/name] - I actually [name]LOVE[/name] this spelling of [name]Zoie[/name]. It’s borderline embarrassing to even admit, because I don’t think [name]Zoie[/name] ages well at all, with that spelling, anyway, and it’s so trendy, and nowhere near as timeless as [name]Zoe[/name] (which, for the record, I would only ever use [name]Zoe[/name], even though I like [name]Zoie[/name] so much more)… but it just seems so much happier and sprightlier and I really love how it looks. It’s one of the few misspellings I truly love.
Zophie - hmm. I’m a sucker for “Z” names and I love [name]Sophia[/name] variants, but I’m not sure about this. What about the Czech [name]Zofia[/name]? I think [name]Zofia[/name] would still face some confusion, but at least it’s a legitimate variant, and you could still call her Zofi/[name]Zofie[/name]/Zophie… I much prefer [name]Zofia[/name] or just plain old [name]Sophie[/name]… Zophie doesn’t sound right to my ear, for some reason.
Good luck!
