I just adore [name]Agatha[/name] and I have been trying forever to get my husband to love [name]Agatha[/name]. He is starting to warm up to the idea but he really wants to see what other people think about it? [name]How[/name] do you feel about [name]Agatha[/name]?
I adore [name]Agatha[/name]
I’m not sure I should add more.
[name]Hattie[/name] would be my preferred nickname, but [name]Aggie[/name] is kind of cute as well. Gaga might be fun as well
I like it in a guilty pleasure sort of way but I just can’t imagine it on a little girl, you know? I can imagine [name]Aggie[/name] though, which I think is a pretty cute nickname for when she’s younger. I like the sound of it and the literary connection with [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Christie[/name]. But I know a lot of people would see it as stuffy but I think it would refreshing to meet a little girl named [name]Agatha[/name] because it’s definitely a name with strength. I’m in the middle with this name but I like it more than [name]Agnes[/name]. That’s just my 2 cents. I’m also curious with the middle name combinations. [name]Agatha[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is one I like
Good luck!
Another fan here. I love it.
I love it, it is on my list, however I try it out loud “This is my little girl, [name]Agatha[/name]” and it gives me pause and I am not sure why… it shall remain on the list for the time being.
I love vintage names so [name]Agatha[/name] is right up my alley! I find it sweetly old-fashioned, charming, dignified with a touch of eccentricity thrown in for good measure. It’s a saints name and has a great literary association. Some people may find it heavy and clunky but isn’t that part of its charm? It doesn’t sound like the names you hear in the playground ([name]Jayden[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Madison[/name] etc) and that will make your daughter stand out from the crowd! If you love it, I would encourage you to take this gem off the shelf, dust her off and make her shine!
I’ve loved both [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Agnes[/name] since I can remember and it’s always a struggle to choose which one I like more! At the moment I have [name]Agnes[/name] of my list. [name]Agatha[/name] seems to be cropping up more and more lately.
I like it! Much prettier sound than [name]Agnes[/name] imo.
I like it, although I prefer [name]Agnes[/name]. There’s just something about [name]Agnes[/name] that I love. I think [name]Agatha[/name] sounds “cuter” to the general public… But even then, I was at a ministry event with my church yesterday, and we were set up in a community center (which was, of course, decorated for Halloween), and one of the preteen girls was playing with a little witch doll thing, and she called it [name]Agatha[/name] because “all witches are called [name]Agatha[/name]. Agathas are old creapy witch-ladies who have moles in the most disgusting places on their faces.” bahaha. While I think lots of Berries really love [name]Agatha[/name], I really don’t think [name]Agatha[/name] gets a lot of love from non-Berries… Which is sad, because [name]Agatha[/name] (and [name]Agnes[/name]!) are both fabulous.
I love it so much I’m naming my daughter [name]Agatha[/name] in [name]December[/name]. My husband is on board, but we get a lot of dubious looks when we tell people. I assume people will change their minds when they’re looking at sweet little newborn!
I wouldn’t personally use it but if I met a little [name]Agatha[/name] I think I would be pleasantly surprised. On one hand it sounds somewhat appealing to me, on the other hand it sounds somewhat unattractive. I can’t seem to decide. I much prefer it over [name]Agnes[/name] though. It is rather refreshing to hear some of the older names amongst all the Mackenzies, Rylees, Kaylees, Hayleys, etc…
I adore this name i just love it!!! [name]Agatha[/name] is stunning
Although [name]Agatha[/name] is a dramatic vintage name, I am putting my 2 cents worth in here in hopes to save this little girl from torment from her peers. Please think of the child having this name. It would be a world of teasing throughout her life. If somehow you make sure she is only referred to as [name]Aggie[/name] she might have some peace. If you are getting those looks from your peers now, just think of how that could roll over to her peers. [name]Just[/name] my heartfelt opinion.
I slightly prefer [name]Agnes[/name], but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I do see some potential teasing though (Hagatha etc.) so I would just be aware of that. But it’s a perfectly lovely name.
It’s really growing on me. I’m not a fan of [name]Aggie[/name] though.
[name]Agatha[/name] was my girls name when I was pregnant with my son. We were told we were having a girl so I was calling her [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Aggie[/name]. Once we had a boy it was kind of a mourning process to give up our [name]Agatha[/name]!
Now that I am pregnant with our second child, we aren’t find out the sex, and for some reason I can’t put [name]Agatha[/name] back on the list. I feel like it is too connected to the girl that I thought I was having.
I still love and adore it, maybe my next pregnancy I will be ready to use it again!
Why would a child be teased for [name]Agatha[/name] any more than they would be teased for any other name? No child knows that [name]Agatha[/name]/[name]Aggie[/name] is any different than [name]Sophia[/name]/[name]Sophie[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Olivia[/name] or [name]Mia[/name]. The only way that a child would even think about teasing a girl about the name [name]Agatha[/name] is if a parent made a comment about it… which is ridiculous because there is nothing negative about the name [name]Agatha[/name].
Definitely not a fan.
I am really interested in finding out how you pronounce [name]Agatha[/name]. I think it has a rather flat sound said in my Aussie accent but it dramatically improves when the name has the [name]Arthur[/name] sound.
rollo
Guilty pleasure for me, I have always loved the name [name]Agatha[/name]. I think some people may hesitate because it has a dark quality to it, but many popular names read dark to me as well ([name]Vivian[/name] for example). I think it’s just a little ahead of trend (which is good, right?)
