I’ve recently been super crushing on [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] as a double-barrel first, probably with the nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f], possibly helped by the fact that I came across a really adorable one. Anyhow, what do you think about [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f]? Any middle ideas for her? (Please ignore [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] in my signature–it’s mostly a placeholder, at this point, and [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] is unusable to me, anyway, even if I did really love it.)
Thanks, Berries!
P.S. … bonus question, do you prefer [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f], or [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f]? Thanks!
I’m generally not a fan of hyphenated names but I do like this one. It seems more interesting and appealing than either [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f] on their own. I also quite like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I think I would like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] best on their own, however I prefer [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] in combination.
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is beautiful. Like my own middle name, Cla1re-H3l3ne, it has a nice 1-2 rhythm ending in an iamb, which, probably because that’s how my middle name is, is my preference for double barrels.
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is strong but soft. It’s regnal without being boastful or superfluous, and it’s delicate. It reminds me of the flower called [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]'s [name_f]Lace[/name_f].
I like it just fine. It’s beautiful, it’s just that I’ve personally never been a fan of double-barrel names, especially on the fn place. From all the three you mentioned, I prefer [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f].
I mentioned [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] in the NB names that make you go wow thread. I absolutely adore it. She is very charming. I personally prefer the look of non-hyphenated names, so personally would go with [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
My dad’s mom, passed before I was born, was [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f].
I equally adore [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] follows quickly behind.
I love it, but prefer Annelouise, combined. Two names together actually can be prettier than the sum of the parts. [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] work, after all.
I think [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is beautiful! I like it more than [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f].
Aww, thank you, everyone! I wasn’t really expecting it to be such a hit. If I used it, I’d definitely spell it [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f], with the hyphen. Some double barrels (like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo) I like without the hyphen, but (as far as I know, anyhow!) in [name_m]French[/name_m], [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Laure[/name_f] all have the hyphens, so it just looks “right” to me somehow.
Any other ideas? I was thinking something more on the romantic/feminine side, like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], but I always seem stumped with these [name_m]French[/name_m] double-barrel [name_f]Anne[/name_f]- names. I could never come up with a combo I loved for [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], either. A classic next to the classic [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] almost feels like it needs a [name_m]LITTLE[/name_m] more oomph to me? I guess I could be wrong though. (After all, [name_u]Haley[/name_u], I did like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!)
