I used to work with an Aurianna, so I instinctively think of her. She pronounced it ar-ee-ah-nah, so that’s how I say it, too. I like the traditional spelling–[name_f]Ariana[/name_f] (and I can even take [name_f]Arianna[/name_f], but I do prefer [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] vastly)–but I’m not a huge fan of Auriana/Aurianna. But in general I am a fan of the name. The very similar [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] (air-ee-anne) is my second favorite girls’ name.
I’d go with Au- (like at the beginning of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]) and considering I already have [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] on my list one would think I’d take to Auriana like a moth to flame… but alas, it always feels like a smoosh name to me. Like a mix of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Adrianna[/name_f]. jnms.
Eh, I don’t like it. Never been a fan of the Ar- sound. [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], etc…
I want it to grow on me but I theres something about the sound of it holding me back. Maybe its the ar sound your suggesting ballonsforellie
I don’t like it…the spelling looks odd to me. I don’t mind [name_f]Ariana[/name_f].
It feels like a smoosh to me, too. I really like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. I think she’d get called [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] all the time.
I know an [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] and like that very much. The Au version seems somehow trendy or something to me…like those relaity tv show names, [name_f]Audrianna[/name_f] etc.
Thanks everyone for your honest opinions , I appreciate them !
Looks like a pretentious spelling of [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]/[name_f]Arianna[/name_f] to me.
