Mai is pronounced May.
I’m not a fan, the name itself is okay but I don’t like creative spellings personally.

I’ve seen Avamae ([name_m]Ah[/name_m]-va-may) as an Estonian name. Definitely prefer this spelling to [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Mai[/name_f], but I’d place it in the middle spot!
My name is [name_f]Mai[/name_f], and it’s pronounced like ‘my’. I dislike when people use it as a ‘unique’ spelling of [name_f]May[/name_f].
I really like the names [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Mai[/name_f], including the spellings but if they are hyphenated I would prefer [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f].
The name is cute, by I thought it was My at first too.
I’d much prefer [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
