WDYT of Brynn Leigh as double first name???

[name]Just[/name] currious what you all think of [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] as a double first? Or maybe some other spelling - Brynlie/Brenley/Brynlie??? [name]Do[/name] they all look too made up and yooneek?

P.S. [name]Leigh[/name] is a family name.

I think that [name]Bryn[/name] is pretty, but [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] sounds like [name]Brinley[/name] to me. I have to admit that [name]Brinley[/name] and the spellings you’ve listed look and sound very made up/yooneek to me. What about using [name]Leigh[/name] as a middle name with a longer first name?

I do like [name]Bryn[/name], though!

Good luck!

I like a lot…i think it has this mondern touch.
[name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] is like [name]Brinley[/name]…have consider other nicknames?

I like [name]Brynn[/name], but with [name]Leigh[/name] as mn. With them together as fn you would probably end up saying ‘brynnleigh’ (or is this what you meant?) as the pause between [name]Brynn[/name] and [name]Leigh[/name] isn’t particularly natural.

Reminds me of [name]Wilford[/name] Brimley. I think [name]Brynn[/name] is nice, [name]Leigh[/name] is nice. It’s a bit extra-trendy. I think 2 one-syllable names as a double name might be difficult to pull off. [name]Sue[/name] [name]Ann[/name], uhh. I think these names go best with [name]Ann[/name]. [name]Sue[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. [name]Sue[/name] [name]Lee[/name], [name]Lou[/name] [name]Ann[/name], [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Ann[/name]. As awkward as that sounds, it approaches something that doesn’t sound tryndee in favor of something that misses for other reasons. [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Mary[/name], [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Brynn[/name], [name]Brynna[/name] [name]Faye[/name], I don’t know, they all sound awkward. [name]Brynn[/name] STOP [name]Leigh[/name], sounds different than [name]Brinley[/name]. It puts more emphasis on the [name]Leigh[/name] even if you don’t pause for very long. [name]Bryn[/name] Mawr, now that sounds like a name! I don’t think [name]Bryn[/name] Mawr was a person, but I don’t think anything else sounds right as double name with [name]Bryn[/name]. It’s hard to come up with something. I would think a bit on how close it sounds to Brimley. I like [name]Brynn[/name] and I think double names are pretty, but I think [name]Leigh[/name] doesn’t sound right and I am having a hard time thinking of something that does.

[name]EDIT[/name]: I re-read the first post and think if [name]Leigh[/name] is important to use, I think it will be easier to find something in the ways of a double name that sounds pretty good.

Thanks everybody! I don’t think my question was totally clear, but then again maybe it was, and I just didn’t get the answer I was hoping for! ;-). I just came across the name [name]Brynna[/name], which got me thinking of an old favorite of mine that I had kind of forgotten about - Brinlie. I think it sounds so pretty, but I can’t figure out how it should be spelled. Then sice we have a close relative with the name [name]Leigh[/name], I thought maybe [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] might work as a double first. (I don’t mind that it ends up sounding like brynnleigh, since I think it sounds so pretty. I love the name [name]Brynn[/name], but it feels too short on its own - I think it makes an addorable nn though.
I don’t know if any of that even made any sence…

Thanks so much for the feedback!!!

I’d personally go with the traditional [name]Brinley[/name] spelling (the others look yooneek to me). I actually know of a young [name]Brinley[/name] (I believe she was named for her cousins, [name]Bradley[/name] and [name]Brittany[/name]), and this is how she spells her name.

Good luck!

I agree w other posters [name]Brynn[/name] is very nice and [name]Leigh[/name] is a nice middle name but as a double name its NOT nice.

That’s interesting that the [name]Brinley[/name] you know was named after a [name]Bradley[/name] and [name]Brittany[/name]. One of my hubby’s very favorite names is [name]Brittany[/name] [name]Lynn[/name], and he has also mentiond the name [name]Brad[/name] - maybe that’s why he likes [name]Brinley[/name]/[name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] so much! :-). I also wasn’t sure what the “traditional” spelling was, so thanks for the info!

Again, thanks to all of you for the input!
We are not pregnant yet, so we still have plenty of time to decide on a name. We, or I should say I, will probably go through many favorites before we actually have a baby to name!

I love Brynnleigh!!! I was thinking of it for our new baby. My name is [name]Jana[/name]-leigh(but i go by [name]Jana[/name]) so i really like the idea having “leigh” in a name. I’ve been looking into any name that ends with “ly” so i can change the spelling to “leigh”. Good luck naming your little one! It’s not and easy task! This is our 3rd.

The spellings that you have do look a little made up but i like the spellings Brynleigh Brynley [name]Brynlee[/name] [name]Brinleigh[/name]

I don’t know, I think Brynnleigh looks really ridiculous and made up. I think it’s just too many letters or something. I see your predictament, though, because you want to honor the [name]Leigh[/name] in your family. I have to say, though, I prefer the [name]Brinley[/name] spelling. And [name]Brynn[/name] on it’s own really is a lovely first name. It doesn’t really seem like what you want, but I do think that [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] or [name]Brynna[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] are nice as first/middle names. Good luck!

I think [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] as a double first is way better than [name]Brinley[/name], Brynnleigh, or Brynnlee. The other spellings do look made up. Your way, [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] acknowledges that both are actual names.

If you’re looking for reasons not to go with the double first, the only good one I can think of in this case is the possibility that people might forever be trying to hyphenate it or spell it one of these other ways.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce your name like the male name “[name_m]John[/name_m]-a”. Curious because I was thinking of the girl name [name_f]Jonna[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] as a double first name. Middle name [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious! Have you liked your name?

I would use [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] as a double name or simply [name_u]Brinley[/name_u]. The others look tacky.
