WDYT of Dorrit?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

So I came across [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f] a few months ago and added it to my GP list. I was just wondering what you thought of it! What does it remind you of? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s usable at all? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like how it sounds/looks or nah?

Thank you!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Sorry, I’m not really a fan. For some reason it reminds me of ‘dork’ even though it’s actually quite different. I prefer really girly sounding names but this sounds quite harsh. It could make a nice nickname for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] though.

I can honestly only think of Dorritos, sorry.

It’s a great surname but that’s where I think it should stay. I’m reading ‘[name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f]’ at the moment and it’s making me appreciate the name [name_f]Amy[/name_f] a lot more than I have before.

Aha, thanks everyone! Definitely going to keep it to the GP list now. Maybe it’s less the name itself and more the character that makes me like it. Oh well.

It reminds me of [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f]. I’m not a big fan the name, though.

When skimming the thread titles, I thought it read Doritos.

It reminds me of Doritos.

Reminds me of [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f] too. I think it’s classic enough for people to recognise if. It’s cute, but I love most obscure vintage nicknames.

I slightly prefer [name_f]Doris[/name_f] though. Very old lady but it has such a sweet look and sound.

Not a fan. It sounds like an offshoot of [name_u]Dory[/name_u] and [name_f]Dottie[/name_f].

I’m not really a fan, unfortunately  [name_f]Doris[/name_f], however, I love.

I think I’m in the minority, but I actually quite like this name!

I love [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f]!! Reminds me of [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f]. I think it’s sweet but spunky, feminine but strong.

I like [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f]! I first heard it on The [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] Diaries (Sex and the City prequel with [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] in High School), [name_f]Carrie[/name_f]'s younger sister is [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f] (she was like 14). I think it’s a great name & you should use it if you also think so:)

Makes me think of Doritos chips

I worked with a [name_f]Dorrit[/name_f] when I was in college. She was young, she’d be in her late 20’s now. If you like it use it!
