I recently finished a book ([name_u]Legend[/name_u] by [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Lu[/name_f]) that had some pretty interesting names. Some of the characters were [name_u]Day[/name_u] (nickname for [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]), Metias, and [name_m]Primo[/name_m], as well as the average [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. The name that most caught my attention though, was the name of [name_u]Day[/name_u]'s younger brother, [name_u]Eden[/name_u].
I’ve never thought of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] being a boy’s name, and I’ll admit it confused me a few times before I got used to it. It’s really grown on me though, surprisingly. Anyways, I wanted to hear you all’s opinions on [name_u]Eden[/name_u] for a boy.
I like it but I have only heard of female Edens so it would take time to get used to. Sounds like [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] combined so it fits in with current styles. I think it’s usable but different
Sounds like the parents wanted a girl.
I know a male [name_u]Eden[/name_u] so I think it’s lovely xxx
It probably leans more to the girl side, but since it’s a place name it’s pretty gender neutral to me. The sound also reminds me of [name_m]Ian[/name_m], so the name doesn’t scream “girl” to me either.
I know someone who used [name_u]Eden[/name_u] for her son’s middle name recently. I had always thought of it as a girls name but I got used to it for a boy. I can’t say that I really like it for either gender.
I like the names [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] better than the other names in the book. Metias would be great if it were [name_m]Matias[/name_m] or [name_m]Mathias[/name_m].
I’m a girl and one of my middle names is [name_u]Eden[/name_u], but I love it on boys and girls. I think this name leans more towards boys with the N ending too, [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is beautiful
I love [name_u]Eden[/name_u] for a boy. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is unisex and just going by sound alone it sounds more masculine than feminine to me. I know it’s more familiar on girls, but I prefer it on a boy.
I like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] for a boy (much better than for a girl anyway). I believe the male variation is pronounced EHD-ehn, though.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! It’s OK for a girl but it’s only on my boy list because to me it feels masculine rather than totally unisex
I have only known female Edens but I don’t think there is anything inherently feminine about [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. Like pp said, it feels on trend with similar boys names, so I could see a boy pulling it off.
