WDYT of Hanna?

Is it worse than [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]? I mean, as far as I know [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] is a real spelling (not like Paizleeagh or [name_f]My[/name_f]'k-ell). And do you like the sound of both spellings?

I pronounce them the same, unless told to do otherwise. Both are popular names here and pronounced ha (like hat) na (like nut). I live in the midwest US and have Merry/Mary/marry merger. I prefer the spelling Hannah though, because I like the extra h there visually. I also prefer Susannah to Susanna.

Thank you, I also pronounce them both the same. I’m not sure which spelling is better, tbh, but [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] is the one currently on my list.

[name_f]Hanna[/name_f] is easy to pronounce and technically easy to spell too, though a girl with this name will have to always say “without the H on the end” when introducing herself. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is one of my favorite names, but the spelling without the H reminds me of someone I don’t like too much and she actually pronounced her name HAW-nuh. Similarly, I knew a girl who also pronounced her name as HAW-nuh, but had one less N in her name and was simply [name_f]Hana[/name_f]. For personal reasons, I prefer [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and even [name_f]Hana[/name_f] over [name_f]Hanna[/name_f]

I don’t think the spelling is “ghetto,”’ if that’s what you mean. There’s nothing wrong with not having the “h” at the end, but I prefer “[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]” myself.
The actual name, spelling aside, I am not a fan of. It’s just kind of blah and outdated in my opinion.

I wouldn’t say it’s “worse”. I think of it as the same thing.

I pronounce them the same, unless someone pronounces their name differently. I pronounce someone’s name the way they liked it pronounced. I prefer the spelling of [name_f]Hanna[/name_f]. But I am not a big fan of the actual name.

I prefer [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. The h on the end seems more complete to me. But [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] is still pretty.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] as I prefer [name_f]Sara[/name_f] over [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], I pref [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] over [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. The silent h’s at the end seem unnecessary to me.

I love [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] with or without the H it’s a beautiful name

Definitely add the H. I have a friend named [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] and she always has her name spelled wrong. Plus, I think it’s cool to have a name that’s a palindrome.

I know a [name_f]Hanna[/name_f], and her name is pronounced hah-nuh. I think it’s pretty, but not my personal style.

I like it and prefer it to [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].

I like both [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Hanna[/name_f], equally.

[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] looks more balanced to me. [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] feels less pretty and looks incomplete in my opinion.

I like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] a little bit more, as it does feel more complete, however, [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] is more common in Europe so I lean towards that at the same time. I do think though that [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] will stop her having to spell out her now all the time.
