[name]Hi[/name] everyone!
Currently DH and I are expecting number four and we are having a lot of trouble coming up with a name that will flow nicely with our daughter’s names. We have three girls; [name]Lorraine[/name] [name]Amelie[/name], [name]Temperance[/name] [name]Avery[/name], and [name]Willow[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]. I stumbled across the name [name]Ireland[/name] a few days ago, and it has really been growing on me. What do you think of the name? Would it flow well with her sisters names? Also would love any other suggestions on other names or middle names for [name]Ireland[/name]! Thanks a bunch!

I like the name, but I honestly don’t think it goes with your other girls. [name]Ireland[/name] sounds rather harsh phonetically. Tomboyish too (not that thats a bad thing), but compared to the softer, feminine names your other girls have, it sounds out of place.
It’s a country. Yeah, I can see some country names making okay given names becuase they actually sound like names, but [name]Ireland[/name] ends in land. It’s a place! I just don’t personally understand it. Plus, like pp said, it doesn’t fit with your other daughters’ names. [name]Do[/name] you have any connection to [name]Ireland[/name] at all? If so, it’d be all right as a MN. Or how about [name]Erin[/name], if you love the country?
I agree with PP. Perhaps you would like-
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
Varenna [name]Alexandra[/name] sounds nice with your girls’ names.
[name]Just[/name] reminds me of [name]Ireland[/name] [name]Baldwin[/name].
Also, doesn’t quite “go” with the rest of your daughters’ names.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Isla[/name], instead?
I agree with the others. I prefer [name]Iris[/name] or [name]Isla[/name]. [name]Ireland[/name] doesn’t fit with the flowy, feminine names of your daughters, and to be honest, I think [name]Ireland[/name] is pretty tacky.
I think I would prefer [name]Isla[/name] over [name]Ireland[/name] to suit your other girls names. Very Pretty and flows well
What do I think of [name]Ireland[/name]? It’s a beautiful country with a fascinating history, known for its music, its beer, and its very green grass.
What do I think of naming a child [name]Ireland[/name]? Tacky, trashy, and totally ridiculous. Your other children are beautifully named; don’t ruin your sibset with such an awfully silly name.
I don’t like [name]Ireland[/name] as a name at all, unless you have some serious sentimental value in it and therefore use it as a middle name.
That being said, I don’t think it’s for you. Your other daughters’ names are lovely. [name]Don[/name]'t ruin your trend!
I dont really like the name. But then again, I don’t like any “Country” names really. Unless it has some special significance it just come across as tacky or trendy. Sorry shrugs shoulders.
I do agree with augusta_lee…
I’m gonna be the unpopular one here and say I like it a lot! I didn’t like the name until I saw it on an actual person and it was really adorable for the girl. I think it goes well with your other kids’ names because they’re unique and kind of whimsical feeling, like [name]Ireland[/name]. I say go for it!
Irelyn has a more feminine feel to it.
I’m just going to follow you around the boards dittoing you.
I know it isn’t a berry favorite but I love the name [name]Ireland[/name]! I think it goes just fine with your other girls names, especially [name]Willow[/name]. I would much rather meet a little [name]Ireland[/name] than another girl with a boys name or a kre8tive spelling any day. If you love it go for it
This. It’s a country, and doesn’t work as a person’s name at all, [name]IMO[/name].
It will always be [name]Alec[/name] [name]Baldwin[/name] and [name]Kim[/name] Basinger’s daughter’s name to me. And she has been in the news lately, for not so good reasons. I would stay away from it.
