WDYT of Jared?

[name]EDIT[/name]: DH and I are currently set on the name [name]Jared[/name] for our son. We feel like [name]Jared[/name] is “the name” but have gotten some negative feedback from family and friends. What do you think of [name]Jared[/name]?

Something else I need feedback on is this: DH’s name is [name]James[/name] and mine is [name]Jennifer[/name]. If we name our son [name]Jared[/name], would that be a J overload? Also, would our future children feel out of the loop if they didn’t have J names?

Thanks ahead of time for any feedback! It’s greatly appreciated.

[name]Jared[/name] is nice, but I think of [name]Jared[/name], the guy from the subway ads when I hear it.
and lots of families have the same first initial, so I don’t think that is strange. [name]Just[/name] be ready with a sibling name!

[name]EDIT[/name]: I think that [name]Jared[/name] is a very handsome name and a great choice! If you and your husband love it, I say go for it! [name]Don[/name]'t let other people’s opinions get in the way; they’ll warm up to [name]Jared[/name] soon enough. As for the sibling issue, I don’t think it’d be too much of a problem. Most people won’t even notice.

PLEASE keep this name! It is such a wonderful name. I know a family with triplets who all have J names, along with both parents. I’ve never heard anything bad about it- actually a lot of ‘oh thats cute!’ I don’t think it runs together with the rest of the name at all. My best friends name is [name]Jared[/name] and he is an awesome guy. Kind, loving, caring, sensitive, musically inclined, very smart. I have never met a bad [name]Jared[/name]. Please don’t let other peoples opinions get in the way- if you and your husband love it, go for it!

I like this name, a lot. It is not used at all around my area (I’ve met one) and it should be!

I do think it runs a little into your middle name choice but since it has meaning to you and won’t be used often in full with [name]Jared[/name], I think it’s fine.

Use the name you love. It’ll grow on family and friends.

@alexandramae

You brought up an excellent point. The only time we’ll be using [name]Jared[/name] and [name]Dae[/name] Hyun together is when we’re filling out paperwork. I can’t believe I never thought of that. Needless to say, the running together issue is no longer an issue. Thanks!
