Hey everyone what do you think of the baby girl name [name]Liesel[/name]? [name]How[/name] do you imagine a girl or women having this name? And also what sibling names could you think of for [name]Liesel[/name]?
Would [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Scarlett[/name] work?
Thank you!
I always think of [name]Liesl[/name] from the Sound of [name]Music[/name] when I hear that name, but I do think it could be used. I think [name]Catherine[/name] works better than [name]Scarlett[/name], but both could work.
I think [name]Liesel[/name] from the Sound of [name]Music[/name] too, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing, if anything it means most people wouldn’t have to think twice about the pronunciation.
I think because of the film I picture a girl who’s young, pretty, idealistic. As a little girl, I’d picture her with tons of energy, but very sweet.
Sibset…I can picture [name]Catherine[/name] and Leisel. I’m undecided on [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Liesel[/name], maybe it’s because there’s a strong film association for both of these names, so I end up with this oddball picture of [name]Liesel[/name] [name]Von[/name] Trapp and [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name].
I thought of Sound of [name]Music[/name] too. Reminds me of [name]Lisa[/name].
[name]Liesel[/name] is definitely recognizable thanks to The Sound of [name]Music[/name], and I think a [name]Liesel[/name]'s sister could definitely be [name]Catherine[/name]. Very pretty. I’m not quite as keen on [name]Scarlett[/name], and I think it might be the same odd film association thing mentioned by lineska.
I don’t care for it. My first thought is [name]Liesel[/name], the character from the Sound of [name]Music[/name] who had the nazi boyfriend. My second thought is Weasel.
When I hear [name]Liesel[/name] I think of an [name]Anneliese[/name] or [name]Elisabeth[/name] who has a nickname. I also think of Weasel unfortunately : (. I don’t think [name]Liesel[/name] pairs all that well with either [name]Scarlett[/name] or [name]Catherine[/name]. However I could see [name]Anneliese[/name] with either name and [name]Elisabeth[/name] with [name]Catherine[/name]. And then [name]Liesel[/name] could be the nn.
A somewhat similar sounding name is [name]Louisa[/name]. I think [name]Louisa[/name] pairs much better with [name]Catherine[/name] than with [name]Scarlett[/name], but pairs better with [name]Scarlett[/name] than [name]Liesel[/name] does.
Good luck!
It’s one of my top names for girls–spelled the same way–[name]Liesel[/name]. I think it’s beautiful and very feminine. It’s also not a common name, yet not too out there or ‘made up’, so I find it a very refreshing choice for a girl! My first name ([name]Leslie[/name]) scrambled also spells [name]Liesel[/name], haha, so that’s kind of neat…I think the name is lovely on a baby & lovely for a woman–I don’t see any issues with aging, etc.
Out of curiosity, are you of Germanic/Austrian descent?
