WDYT of Malou? (+ Marilou?)

I found our old list of names from when we were looking for names for [name]Hazel[/name] and theres some names on it that i’d completely forgotten about! [name]Malou[/name] was one of them and I think I’ve fallen in love with it again! We are expecting a boy this time so I can’t use it but was wondering what you think?

Another name was [name]Marilou[/name], how would you pronounce that? I prefer [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Lou[/name] but I think some people may pronounce it [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Lou[/name].

I don’t love [name]Malou[/name]- I think it sounds like a hillbilly mother looking for her son [name]Lou[/name] (“Anybody seen ma [name]Lou[/name]?”)

As for [name]Marilou[/name], I absolutely prefer [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Lou[/name]. I don’t think anyone would pronounce it [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Lou[/name]. I know it seems more difficult for me to say [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Lou[/name] than [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Lou[/name].
