Wdyt of Martha? Opinions please!

Hey nameberries I have a growing love for the name [name]Martha[/name] and I wanted your opinions! [name]How[/name] do you picture [name]Martha[/name] and also what her sisters names be? Or brothers? And lastly which nn do you like
[name]Marlo[/name]? [name]Marly[/name]? Or just [name]Martha[/name]?
Thank you!!

I think [name]Martha[/name] is really cute… it’s old-fashioned but it will age well. I wouldn’t have the courage to use it myself, but you definitely should! [name]Marly[/name] / [name]Marlo[/name] are cute… do you like [name]Marti[/name]? I’ve heard [name]Mary[/name] as a nickname for [name]Martha[/name] too. Good luck!

[name]Martha[/name] is the name of my best friend’s mom, who is a lovely woman. Makes me think of a quiet, sweet, gentle girl.

[name]Marti[/name] or [name]Marly[/name] are cute nicknames!

Sorry I’m not a big fan of it. Reminds me of [name]Martha[/name] [name]Stewart[/name], the [name]Martha[/name] Speaks T.V show, or a stodgy old woman feeding birds. But [name]Marly[/name] is cute!

Eh, I’m not feeling [name]Martha[/name]. I put that in the category of old lady names that aren’t ready to come back. Although, I was just at a baby shower today and someone was telling me about their niece named [name]Marta[/name], which I thought was pretty.

[name]Martha[/name] is a classic name. It’s the name of my dear Irish friend who is in her twenties, and she loves her name. I love [name]Marlo[/name] as a nickname too.

I love [name]Martha[/name]! She’s spunky, sweet, and creative. And I adore the nn [name]Marlo[/name]! So cute!

I love [name]Martha[/name]. I know two! [name]One[/name] goes by [name]Maisie[/name]. The other goes by [name]Martha[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are wonderfully quirky and have amazing senses of humor.

If I’d had another daughter, she definitely would have been [name]Martha[/name]. It’s a family name for me, in the Norwegian side of the family as well as the New [name]England[/name] side. I love just plain [name]Martha[/name], but [name]Marty[/name] is cute too.

I like [name]Martha[/name] but prefer [name]Martina[/name] and [name]Marta[/name], personally. I can’t shake the old-lady, grandma image behind it. In some cases it is charming, but in others, I just don’t find it appealing at all. I want to like [name]Martha[/name] but I just can’t seem to. [name]Martha[/name] in the TV show Castle makes it infinitely more appealing for me, though, haha. I think [name]Maisie[/name] and [name]Marley[/name] make [name]Martha[/name] a lot more appealing, though! This would probably detract from [name]Martha[/name]'s appeal to you, but I like the idea of something like [name]Martha[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name], nn [name]Emmy[/name] (from the initials ME) or [name]Marley[/name] ([name]Mar[/name] from [name]Martha[/name] and Ley from [name]EvangeLIne[/name] with the leen ending).

Good luck!

I really want to love [name]Martha[/name] since it is my grandmother’s name, but I just cant. I have run across a few and I always feel a little sorry for a little girl with name. It just seems a little dowdy to me.

I go straight to [name]Martha[/name] [name]Stewart[/name]. It just seems like the name belongs to her for some reason. I am not sure I can see [name]Martha[/name] on a baby. If you love it though I think it could work

My dearest friend’s name is [name]Martha[/name]. She is 25. She has never been wild about it. She refuses to be nicknames saying “its pointless” and she recalls many times of the teasing that has accompanied her name. Her sisters are [name]Virginia[/name], [name]Melissa[/name], (both older) and [name]April[/name] (younger). About a 7 year difference between each girl.

[name]How[/name] in the world could someone be teased about the name [name]Martha[/name]!!! It is a beautiful name meaning “lady”… My sister’s names is [name]Martha[/name] and she is beautiful, sweet and smart:-) She loves her name as do I

I think [name]Martha[/name] is grand: I think it would fit a graceful, feminine person or a spunky, adventurous person (or both rolled into one). It’s established, but ready to shake off its stodgier connotations. And it affords nice nicknames.

I’m a fan of [name]Martha[/name], it’s classic and feminine but not overly frilly, and would suit both girly girls and tomboys.
