[name]Christopher[/name]- It’s not a bad name. A bit boring and not my style. But solid nonetheless.
[name]Darcy[/name]- I’ve known several female [name]Darcy[/name]'s, thus it feels strictly like a female name to my ear.
[name]Edgar[/name]- I think I like it a decent amount. Definitely one of my favorite [name]Ed[/name] related names ([name]Edwin[/name] is cool too).
[name]Emmett[/name]- I think this is a great name. Feels like a friendly dude. A bit trendy recently, but still great. Definitely in my top 3 from your list.
[name]Frederick[/name]- Eh, not such a fan. I don’t like any of the [name]Fred[/name] names.
[name]Gilbert[/name]- I think it could grow on me. It feels a little stuffy, but not bad.
[name]Henry[/name]- It’s an okay name. A bit boring for my taste. I can understand why some people like it a lot, but I’m just not one of them.
[name]Jack[/name]- Not a fan at all.
[name]James[/name]- Okay for a MN since you have a family connection, but not a fan as a FN.
[name]Louis[/name]- Great name.
[name]Luca[/name]- [name]One[/name] of my top 3 from your list.
[name]Lucian[/name]- Probably my overall favorite from your list. Great great name. If it didn’t go horribly with our last name and sound way to similar to my sister-in-laws (Chinese) name, it’d be high on our list.
[name]Marco[/name]- [name]Polo[/name]. I’d prefer [name]Marcus[/name]. [name]Marco[/name] is decent. [name]Marcus[/name] is better.
[name]Peter[/name]- Never liked it.
[name]Reed[/name]- I think it’d be good for a redhead.
[name]Remy[/name]- I don’t like it at all.
[name]River[/name]- I like it quite a bit. Not a name I’d actually use, but I like it when others use it.
[name]Thomas[/name]- I think I know more people name [name]Thomas[/name]/[name]Tom[/name] then any other name.
[name]Toby[/name]- Sounds like a NN. [name]Tobin[/name] would be decent. [name]Tobias[/name] I don’t like. [name]Toby[/name] by itself sounds incomplete.
My favorites are [name]Emmett[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Luca[/name], and [name]Reed[/name]. With the middle name [name]James[/name], I like [name]Emmett[/name] [name]James[/name] and [name]Luca[/name] [name]James[/name] best. Good luck!
[name]Christopher[/name]- nice, but so common it’s a bit boring to me [name]Darcy[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name]! one of my favourite boy names. so romantic and handsome, just like Mr. [name]Darcy[/name] So glad to see it on someone’s list!
[name]Edgar[/name]- a bit too old-fashioned for me
[name]Emmett[/name]- quite nice
[name]Frederick[/name]- okay, don’t really like or dislike it
[name]Gilbert[/name]- the “gil” sound turns me off in names for some reason. My favourite “bert” name is [name]Bertram[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]- great name, can’t go wrong with a classic
[name]Jack[/name]- I’m not into nicknames on their own, but [name]John[/name] nn [name]Jack[/name] would be refreshing on a young child
[name]James[/name]- same as [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]- good, solid classic with a lot of historical usage
[name]Luca[/name]- this has always felt too nicknamey to me, but I would like it as short for something else
[name]Lucian[/name]- wonderful name with exotic European flair. I love [name]Luciano[/name] even more though
[name]Marco[/name]- never liked it, sorry
[name]Peter[/name]- same as [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Reed[/name]- I think of reeds in a swamp or a clarinet reed (though I haven’t played in years)… not the best of associations
[name]Remy[/name]- the French pronunciation is so sweet, but the English one seems a bit lightweight
[name]River[/name]- cool name that definitely stands out
[name]Thomas[/name]- same as [name]Louis[/name]
[name]Toby[/name]- I would love [name]Tobias[/name] nn [name]Toby[/name], but don’t think it can stand on its own
[name]Wesley[/name]- nice, but doesn’t do much for me
Thanks for the input, guys. For the record, I’m pronouncing [name]Louis[/name] as “lou-ee”. My personal favourites are [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name], but, of course, I love them all! I guess [name]River[/name] stands out a bit, but I love classic names and nature names.
