Wdyt of my new name Crushes?

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m]
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- too international?
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]
[name_u]Fable[/name_u]
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]- how do you pronounce this name?
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u]

I love, love, love, [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]! [name_m]Axel[/name_m], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] are nice too.

thanks, there was an old man who I volunteered with called [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] and he went by Ig. I never really thought about the name before, funny how people can change your perception/opinion on names etc.

Anyone else?

Interesting list! I bolded my favorites.

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m]: Would make a distinctive, yet familiar choice. I love the [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m] reference.
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]: The cigarette brand connection would bother me.
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]: Distinctive, yet would fit in with other ‘ever’ names that are growing in popularity.
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]: Cool, with inspiring meaning.
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]: It feels gentle, yet strong. I love the nature and literary associations.
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]: To me, just another surname/occupational name.
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]: Makes me think of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] and I love it. Would make a very intriguing choice.
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]: I love the images [name_u]Orion[/name_u] evokes, its mythological and celestial connections. I prefer it as a middle, but I think it’d make a great first name, too.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]: I predict it’d get mistaken for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] a lot now when the latter’s got so popular.
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: I’d say [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is not ‘international’, but somewhat ethnic-sounding. I do think it’s usable in English-speaking countries, though.
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]: Great name with wonderful meaning. Unfortunately it seems stripperish to some people.
[name_u]Fable[/name_u]: The word name that doesn’t sound like one (maybe because of its similarity to [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]).
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]: I suppose the most common pronunciation is Mahr-suh-LEEN, but I much prefer it pronounced like [name_f]Marcheline[/name_f]. I think both would make an interesting choice.
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]: I love these names that feel [name_m]New[/name_m] Age and futuristic at the same time.
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]: Unusual yet familiar, with the cool Z.
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]: One of a few Greek mythological names that feel like ‘too much’. Probably it’s just me.
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]: Soft and gentle, with great meaning and great nickname options.
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u]: This sounds very masculine to me.

like - [name_u]Everest[/name_u] (love [name_u]Everett[/name_u])

neutral - [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], [name_m]Winston[/name_m], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Althea[/name_f]

dislike - [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] (it’s a private boys school where I lived), [name_f]Electra[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_u]Windsor[/name_u]

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m]- I love this one  I think a lot of people would find it a bit old fashioned, but it’s just so handsome.

[name_m]Winston[/name_m]- I adore this name! It’s on my list as [name_m]Winston[/name_m] [name_m]Prosper[/name_m]. One of my very favorite names.

[name_u]Everest[/name_u]- I like this one as a middle name, but not so much as a first name, because it sounds a tiny bit feminine.

[name_m]Axel[/name_m]- I really cool name. I picture the parents of a boy with this name being way cooler than I am, lol.

[name_m]Walden[/name_m]- I’ve never thought about this name before, but now that I am, I think I’m falling in love! It’s so handsome.

[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]- A bit too trendy in my opinion.

[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of the nickname [name_m]Iggie[/name_m]. But it’s a bit much for my taste.

[name_u]Orion[/name_u]- Awesome name. I feel like O names are always so interesting.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]- It’s okay. Not really my style.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name! Not too international for me, It’s just so interesting and unique, but has history.

[name_f]Electra[/name_f]- It’s a great name, not sure how much I like the connotations, though.

[name_u]Fable[/name_u]- I love it. It’s so unique, but not hard to recognize.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]- Gorgeous. I have a great aunt [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. I say it [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-sell-ine, but some other people in my family say in [name_u]March[/name_u]-uh-line. She’s not living but apparently she used to say it the second way.

[name_f]Nova[/name_f]- Very space age. Not my taste, but it is pretty.

[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]- Z names are awesome. I love how girly and unique it is.
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]- It’s nice, but I’m not a huge fan.

[name_f]Althea[/name_f]- So pretty. It’s my favorite on your girls list

[name_u]Windsor[/name_u]- I sort of prefer it for a boy, but it’s still a nice name.

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m] – Too old-man for me.
[name_m]Winston[/name_m] – I think this one sounds astute, but no cute little-boy nn
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] - I like this. But would fear that [name_u]Everett[/name_u] might be mistaken, and I dont like this name
[name_m]Axel[/name_m] – I am on the fence with this because of Guns N Roses :stuck_out_tongue:
[name_m]Walden[/name_m] – This is in my top 20ish names. I love it.
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] – Not my favorite, too common in my area with boys aged 5-9 ish
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] – Not comfortable with pronouncing this.
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] – I don’t love this. It seems like a pet name.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] – This is beautiful to me.
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- too international? – Not too international, but possibly difficult to pronounce & spell
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] – [name_u]Carmen[/name_u] [name_f]Electra[/name_f] is a negative connotation to me, but children her age might not make that connection?
[name_u]Fable[/name_u] – This is lovely to me.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]- how do you pronounce this name? – I have a new niece named Marcelline pronounced [name_f]MAR[/name_f] sa leen.
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] – I dont love this one, but I know many who do.
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] – Not sure on this, seems kind of like a crazy old lady name, but could be way off so ignore me!
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] – This always seemed masculine to me, despite the historical tie. Either way, a little lady with this name would seem fierce.
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] – Always felt uncomfortable to pronounce this one too. I know an [name_m]Al[/name_m]-[name_m]THAY[/name_m]-uh and an [name_m]Al[/name_m]-THEE-uh. ??
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u] – One of my faves. I spell it without the ‘d’. just [name_m]Winsor[/name_m].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_m]Axel[/name_m](I prefer the [name_m]Aksel[/name_m] spelling though), [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_f]Electra[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]. I don’t think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is too international, but I do think it will have pronunciation issues.

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m] - like
[name_m]Winston[/name_m] - love!
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] - meh.
[name_m]Axel[/name_m] - not my style
[name_m]Walden[/name_m] - love!
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] - not a fan.
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] - I like it
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] - meh.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] - not my style
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- too international? - I like it. Like ikfly said though, not everybody will instinctively know how to pronounce it
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] - not my style
[name_u]Fable[/name_u] - meh.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]- how do you pronounce this name? - Mahr-se-LEEN, like the Adventure Time character. I like it.
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] - not my style
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] - I want to like it (I like most flower names), but can’t for some reason.
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - I like it
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u]! One of my favourites
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u] - don’t really see this as a girl’s name

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are:
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]
[name_u]Fable[/name_u]

Pretentious

I love your boy names, the girl names not so much.

OH [name_f]MY[/name_f] GOD! I love the name [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]! I have it in my top names. But to make it even better, I saw a little girl, maybe 1 or 2, her name was [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]! I about flipped!!! Good choice! :stuck_out_tongue:

I really like [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]. I had it on my list a while ago, but it dropped when I realized [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] on a boy was so much better. :stuck_out_tongue:
I like [name_f]Electra[/name_f], and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] on your girls list

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m] - Sounds kind, gentle, but still has an edge to it. I
think that it would make a great middle name. I can’t see it
as a first name though (sorry [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m]).

[name_m]Winston[/name_m] - ADORABLE! [name_m]Winston[/name_m] is so cute for a little boy and
simply perfect for an adult male. I love this name so much

[name_u]Everest[/name_u] - [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was, like the mountain? This name
isn’t really my cup of tea.

[name_m]Axel[/name_m] - This name reminds me of when I was in my rebellious
teenage years. I used to steel my oldest brother’s Guns ‘n’ Roses
CDs and listen to them for hours.

[name_m]Walden[/name_m] - I’m not in to it. It just doesn’t sounds right to me.

[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] - Again, not my cup of tea.

[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] - I can definitely see this as a cool character name for
a story; however I’m not sure that this name would do well in
the world Michaels’ and [name_u]James[/name_u]’ running around.

[name_u]Orion[/name_u] - Very cool. Awesome name for a little boy and suits a
man nicely as well.

Some of them seem a little too much.

I like these:
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]

I love [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], [name_m]Winston[/name_m] and [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] from your boys list.

From your girls list I like [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], but the rest really aren’t my style.

I like [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], and [name_u]Orion[/name_u] from your boys list, and [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Electra[/name_f], and [name_f]Althea[/name_f] from your girls. I think I prefer [name_u]Windsor[/name_u] as a boys name, but either way, it might be a bit too much like a place name (I’m not sure), though I can really see the appeal.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites in bold, other likes are in italics

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m] - I love this so much, especially with [name_m]Ernie[/name_m] as a nn.
[name_m]Winston[/name_m] - nice but never been my style.
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] - it feels much fresher than [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], but I prefer [name_u]Everett[/name_u].
[name_m]Axel[/name_m] - never really gotten behind this one
[name_m]Walden[/name_m] - I prefer [name_m]Walter[/name_m] or [name_m]Watson[/name_m]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] - Incredibly handsome, I love the sound of it, though I wouldn’t use it myself.
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] - never seen the appeal to this either
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] - All I hear is “Oh [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]”, which doesn’t sound all that nice to my ears.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] - very pretty but would get mixed up with the many girls named [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Emelia[/name_f], etc.
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- perhaps a bit too international to use up front if you don’t have connections to it’s background, but could work in the middle
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] - all I think of is the [name_f]Electra[/name_f] complex (Electra complex - Wikipedia ).
[name_u]Fable[/name_u] - eh, this doesn’t do anything for me, it’s the same as [name_f]Poet[/name_f], [name_u]Story[/name_u], etc for me.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] (and [name_f]Marcheline[/name_f], which was used by [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], as [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]'s MN), it’s gorgeous. I would say it as [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-cell-een, but I have heard of it being [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-shell-een.
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] - very cute, but never wowed me (same with [name_f]Luna[/name_f])
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] - floral names are my biggest weakness
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - I can see the appeal, but I don’t like the sound. I prefer [name_f]Athena[/name_f], or the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] equivalent to [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - [name_f]Diana[/name_f].
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] - very nice, but I prefer [name_f]Alethea[/name_f]
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u] - I can see the appeal, but it seems a bit off to me

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m] ~ Sounds almost virtuous like [name_m]Will[/name_m], plus it comes equipped with the [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m] association.

[name_m]Winston[/name_m] ~ I love how preppy and handsome this name sounds.

[name_u]Everest[/name_u] ~ Very professional and distinctive, like a charming retro pilot.

[name_m]Axel[/name_m] ~ This sounds pretty mechanical and preppy to me, like someone who’s a bookworm.

[name_m]Walden[/name_m] ~ Very retro-nerdy and cute!

[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] ~ Meh. Too DB [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] for me unfortunately.

[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] ~ I’m noticing a preppy, retro (geek) theme, and I’m loving it. (I hope you don’t mind that term because I mean it as a compliment.)

[name_u]Orion[/name_u] ~ I love this. It’s so sleek and handsome.

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Love[/name_u] this and the significance it holds for me. I prefer this over [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] ~ I’m not sure how to pronounce this, but I like how it looks.

[name_f]Electra[/name_f] ~ I love the cyberpunk and mythological vibes I get from this name.

[name_u]Fable[/name_u] ~ I like it, but as a middle name. It sounds vintage (like a cross between [name_f]Fay[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]) but very literary. It reminds me of [name_m]Aesop[/name_m].

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] ~ It’s pronounced mar-suh-LEEN. Like [name_f]Selene[/name_f], but with [name_f]Mar[/name_f] attached at the front. It’s been my favorite name for a few years now.

[name_f]Nova[/name_f] ~ I don’t like this as much as I used to, but it’s very intergalactic-sounding.

[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] ~ [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it sounds sort of delicate, I picture this on a strong woman.

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] ~ I like this as a middle name. [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is one of my favorite goddesses.

[name_f]Althea[/name_f] ~ Sounds like a brave warrior queen. Beautiful!

[name_u]Windsor[/name_u] ~ I think this could work on both genders. It’s cute, but pretty masculine.

[name_m]Ernest[/name_m]- I love [name_m]Ernest[/name_m]! I love [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] too, I like the virtue angle.
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]- eeh, I don’t feel like I can take it seriously.
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]- I see the appeal of naturey, physical endurance, and all that. I wouldn’t use it, but it’s kind of neat.
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]- I don’t like it at all, but I do like [name_m]Aksel[/name_m]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]- Hmm, I don’t personally like it, but in contrast to [name_m]Winston[/name_m], I like it more than that.
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]- This was my grandmother’s maiden name, I have a soft spot for it
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]- very intense… I don’t think it’s very practical
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]- I’m personally not fan, but I get why so many people like it

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]- this is gorgeous!
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]- I don’t think “international” is ever a bad thing, but I personally don’t like [name_f]Anouk[/name_f].
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]- it’s okay, but a little too “[name_u]Carmen[/name_u] [name_f]Electra[/name_f]”/ exotic dancer feel. I think [name_f]Elettra[/name_f] is gorgeous, though
[name_u]Fable[/name_u]- Quite nifty! I don’t like the whole “Mommy blogger” link (like for [name_f]Reverie[/name_f] and [name_f]Boheme[/name_f] BLEW UP) but I do think this is sweet.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f]- I say “mahr-suh-LEEN”, I think it’s okay, but feels very fated to me
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]- Not my style at all
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]- [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it!
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]- It’s a little much for me, but it’s not bad
[name_f]Althea[/name_f]- So lovely!
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u]- Too [name_m]Royal[/name_m] to not be pretentious, especially on a girl, unfortunately
