I recently met a little three year old boy named [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. Personally not my style for either gender I guess I like it more on a girl. So what is your thoughts on the name [name_f]Nova[/name_f] on a boy?
Too feminine for a boy for my tastes.
I like it. Seeming a nova is a cataclysmic nuclear explosion on a white dwarf, I really don’t see anything particularly feminine about that Pretty sure blowing things up is a traditionally masculine thing, right?
I like girl names on boys though. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with embracing the feminine.
I like it. It reminds me of [name_u]Noah[/name_u].
I dont like it on either gender.
I’m not a fan of the name in general. It always makes me think of nova lox (a kind of smoked fish.)
I know a boy named [name_f]Nova[/name_f], and I have always loved his name. His big sister is named Chevelle and I used to wonder if that was a pretty french name, but it turns out that Chevelle and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] are both types of cars lol, and that’s why they are named that.
I like it on a girl, not a boy.
I like it more on a boy, after reading it. Probably because it’s a bit boring these days. I wouldn’t think anything other than “that’s awesome” if I met one. I mean, why not?
I like it. People only call [name_f]Nova[/name_f] feminine because it ends in A. On a boy [name_f]Nova[/name_f] makes me think of Supernova, a male comic book character
Good point! Yep, [name_f]Nova[/name_f] is a good boy’s name
Actually, women have been instrumental in developing explosives. [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Curie was, dare I say, dynamite. The Manhattan Project was carried by women. I know you probably didn’t mean to diminish women in your comment but it struck me the wrong way. Stereotyping and women being forgotten about in STEM… gets me.
Too feminine for a boy [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Nova[/name_f] on a boy. I like boys’ names that end in vowels, like [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], and [name_u]Nico[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my preference!
I only see it as a girls name, and don’t care for it on a boy. Although I adore it on a girl.
