What are your thoughts?
Given that we are planning on using my four syllable LN (starts with Mir- ends with -a), do you find the above names to be too long? My own FN has three syllables and was never shortened, I never minded it but maybe it’s just me.
Thanks to everyone who will take the time to read this and have a great day!
[name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is my favourite, but they are all wonderful. [name_f]May[/name_f] I suggest [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Abraham[/name_m]?
[name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] -i love this! A great mix of sounds and flow well
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u] - love this too. [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is familiar but underused and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is unexpected here!! I like it
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] - I like this too, though i think I’d like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] even better
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] - soft and gentle-i like it
[name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]-This is dashing. Very old fashioned & charming. A good classic recognizable name with the sweet kind nn of [name_m]Abe[/name_m]. I don’t think that it’s too long with your ln, but is it too ‘m’ heavy?
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u]-This is really handsome. I quite like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], & I love [name_m]Nate[/name_m]. [name_m]Nate[/name_m] is sporty yet humble sounding. I don’t personally love [name_u]Micah[/name_u], but this combo sounds great. [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is quite a bit more common than [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] if that’s a concern to you.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]-[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is also getting really popular, but it’s adorable. I know some young brothers named [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] & [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] sounds great. I love all of the nn options too. [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Thatch[/name_m] & Thax.
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]-Ooh, very handsome. Strong & smart yet not too stuffy. It’s not too common too, yet easy to say & spell. Maybe a bit ‘m’ heavy with your ln again.
I think that my personal favorite is [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], but [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is the most interesting.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is my favorite, though I also love [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]! I don’t think your surname is too long for any of them.
I really like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]! And I don’t think they’ll be too long, though, if that’s a concern, I might lean toward [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u] because of the 2-syllable middle name. ([name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u] would also work.)
Thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts! It is so helpful and reassuring. I do like [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] a lot, had never thought of those two together actually but I will add the pair to my list! My only concern with the [name_m]Abraham[/name_m] and [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] combos is the “M” ending that might not flow with the LN as well as other names (?)
I’d love to get some more feedback and I know this isn’t the girls’ section but if there’s any girl name combo that comes to your mind and you feel like it matches the boys’, I’d love to read that.
I think I like the sound of [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] the best, but I do see how an ending in “m” could be a little tricky once paired with the last name. With that in mind, my favorite is [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u] but I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] sounds awesome! [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] is nice as well but I think I’d prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u]!
I don’t think having a longer first name with a longer last name is a big deal! [name_m]Just[/name_m] more room for a wonderful sounding name!
