Pretty much what it says on the tin. I’ve been thinking about Pallas, and I’d like some opinions.
Many thanks,

reminds me of dallas and maria callas! it’s not my favourite of the greek mythology names, especially on a girl since pallas was a male titan, but it’s not unusable!
i think it’s cool ! it reminds me of the palaces and castles which i love. it kinda sounds surnameish and i think i’d use it for a middle name ! very dark academia royalty core aesthetic.
I quite like the look of Pallas and the mythological connection, but it slightly bothers me that it’s a homophone of “palace” (at least in my accent!).
[name_f]Pallas[/name_f] has really grown on me. It has a pleasing and interesting sound
Thanks for the thoughts! Good point about the palace homophone. They are slightly different when I say them (palace as pal-iss vs. [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] as pal-us), but there’s a good chance on hearing it I’d assume it was [name_u]Palace[/name_u]. In a way I’m more okay with it, because the closeness to phallus was more my concern. I was wondering if anyone would bring it up organically and unprompted.
For now [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] as a first is on the maybe list, but she’s definitely a yes for the middle.
I love the meaning and the origin, but not the sound. It makes me think of a messed up version of Dallas (which I prefer). I could see a lot of people confusing it for Dallas, but if that doesn’t bother you, then I think it’s perfectly usable! I wish there were better nicknames tho!
Edit: I didn’t think about phallus until I read you comment and now I can’t unsee it…
Arggh, sorry . I do think the ‘feel’ of it might be more persuasive than sound. Having that strong, ancient vibe in a shorter sounding name that doesn’t end in A is very appealing haha. I don’t live in the US, so I don’t think Dallas is as prominent.
I’ve never heard the name, so it’s immediately one that stands out, and I really like it. It sounds elegant and powerful. I must say, it’s one that’ll be stuck in my head for a while. Although it does have a more masculine vibe to me (which definitely isn’t a bad thing).
Not my style, but what you you think of [name_f]Pierra[/name_f]?
Ooh, Pierra’s lovely!
I love pallas !! it’s such a fresh, cool name !!
