Haha well I’m happy to share [name_u]French[/name_u] names and that you enjoy them! It’s possible that I might be the one who introduced you to Ysée. We still LOVE Ysée! It’s my daughter’s 4th name.
Romée is actually unisex in [name_f]France[/name_f]. It has the same origins as [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and Romea (italian versions of the name). They all come from Romioi and mean “habitant of [name_u]Rome[/name_u]”.
In [name_u]French[/name_u] history, [name_u]Joan[/name_u] of [name_m]Arc[/name_m]'s mom ([name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] de Vouthon) was renamed [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Romée, from a pilgrimage she made to [name_u]Rome[/name_u].
Thank you for your opinion, it’s always a pleasure to read your comments!
Thank you for all the comments, they are really helpful. We both like Romée and decided to add it on our list. We now have 4 names in common: Romée, [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f] & [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
I am always happy to soak up your rare [name_u]French[/name_u] names! I’m so happy you got to use Ysée—she’s so perfect!
How fascinating about Romée, and how interesting about [name_u]Joan[/name_u] of [name_m]Arc[/name_m]’s mother! L1v and Romée are adorable together, too!
