WDYT of Rosemary?

I strongly dislike both [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] but lately I’ve been loving [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], especially with the nickname [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. What do you think of when you hear “[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]” and do you like it? Is it too boring (like in my opinion [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]) or dated?

I think [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is extremely charming and sweet. A beautiful, timeless name. It makes me think of summer and the sea. I also think of the herb which for me is a positive! [name_u]Romy[/name_u] is a really fun NN too, so another plus there.

I think it’s quite cute although I prefer the [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] spelling. [name_u]Romy[/name_u] is a cute nickname. Unfortunately in my country the name [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is strongly associated with a serial killer.

It’s a little dated, but I think it’s pretty! First thought is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_m]Clooney[/name_m].

I really love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. It’s charming and classic. I don’t think of it as dated. It’s pretty timeless in my opinion.

Thanks a lot for your input so far! I’m glad most people seem to like the name

Its sweet, though I like [name_u]Romy[/name_u] way better than [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

I think of the herb and frightened [name_f]Mia[/name_f] Farrow with her pixie cut and huge eyes in “[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]'s [name_u]Baby[/name_u]”. I like it.

I like it, and thinks it goes well with other names in your signature like [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f].

It’s beautiful, but I love both [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]

I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Mary[/name_f], I also thought it sounds a little boring. But I have really warmed up to [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and I love [name_u]Romy[/name_u] as a nn!

I think it’s sweetly vintage - well known, but not common. It fits well with [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and (especially) [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] from your signature.

Eh, if I’m honest, I’m not a big fan of it. It reminds me of food. And people will for sure call that child [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] for short.

It has really been growing on me lately with the nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. I think it’s a great name; recongnizable yet not to common and can easily suit all ages. I think it’s great

I really, really love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. It’s sweet, gentle, spunky, classic but not at all common, delicate, dainty, easy to say, sounds great with most surnames, has a beautiful meaning, gorgeous nn options, is easy to pair in both combos and sibsets . . . I could sing her praises all day! She’d definitely be in my top 3/5 if [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] wasn’t there.

I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! But every friend and co-worker I mentioned naming our baby girl that all had very strong reactions (which shocked me) – that they didn’t like it/they all referenced the movie [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]'s [name_u]Baby[/name_u] (which I’ve never seen so I have no reference point for it). :-?

I have the exact same opinion- I dislike [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_f]Mary[/name_f], I think they’re sort of dated. However, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. It isn’t at all dated in my opinion- it feels fresh and spunky while feminine and pretty.
