[name]Just[/name] wanted some thoughts thoughts on the name [name]Stella[/name]. Everyone on here says it is too popular, not that I think that is necessarily a bad thing. I notice that it is number 85 on the “Nameberry” Popular list, which isn’t too popular [name]IMO[/name]. I do not know any [name]Stella[/name]'s [name]IRL[/name]. We are having a baby girl in [name]June[/name], and [name]Stella[/name] is on our short list. Appreciate any feedback and/or references to you ladies experience with the name. Thanks!!!
I’m pretty sure the Nameberry popularity list is the SSA list, which is pretty reliable as far as names and their popularity go, both within states and across the country. I’m pretty sure I remember [name]Stella[/name] ranking around 85. I think [name]Stella[/name] is pretty and a great choice, although it’s not my personal favorite. I don’t know any Stellas but I do believe it’s rising in popularity! I still see it growing quite a bit–it may or may not make it into the top 50.

The name [name]Stella[/name] was given to 3,407 baby girls in the U.S. last year (via SSA statistics) - so it’s pretty popular, and is only getting more so, which is the reason I personally wouldn’t use it. However, it IS very pretty and if it’s what you love, go for it - there are a LOT of names people pick that aren’t nearly so nice!! Good luck! 
It seems to be popular in lists, but not in real life. At least where I’m from.

I’m thinking #85, even if it it becoming more polpular, is [name]WAY[/name] off from the popularity of [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Emily[/name], [name]Abigail[/name], and the rest of the Top 10. Look at all the names more popular (link below)… [name]Nevaeh[/name]???.. [name]Destiny[/name]???.. [name]IMO[/name] Stell is far from being too popular and is a great balance between popular and “unique”. Not so popular she’ll be one of 3 in class, and popular enough that its known and won’t be mispronounced and/or look made up. Great Choice… Go for it, it that is what you like!!!
I know two little Stellas in NYC. I think it’s definitely on the rise as I dont know any over the age of 3! Still not extremely popular though.

I don’t think #85 is too popular at all… My name ([name]Julia[/name]) was #87 the year I was born, so right about the same spot as [name]Stella[/name], and I’ve never felt it was very popular in real life, even with it’s increase in popularity over the years (I’ve only ever met a handful…) As for [name]Stella[/name], I only know of one baby girl with this name in real life. I think [name]Stella[/name] is gorgeous, and if you love it use it! Best wishes
I dont think its hugely popular. I do think it is on the rise and will become more popular in the future. My 7 month old niece is named [name]Stella[/name]!

I really love [name]Stella[/name]! I do think it is on the rise, but that doesn’t mean it would deter me from using it.
My college roommate was named [name]Stella[/name] and I’m from TN. I say it translates well [name]IRL[/name].
I think [name]Stella[/name]'s really pretty - and I have only ever met one [name]Stella[/name] and she was 80-something years old. So the baby [name]Stella[/name]'s haven’t been super popular where I am at least.
