Emery (Emma)
Lavinia (Olivia)
Milicent (Amelia)
Farah (Ava)
Moonie/Moona (Luna) - Not completely sure of this one, but some people might find it cute)?
Misha (Mia)
Elton (Ella) - I actually think this sounds kind of pretty in a way.
Soraya, Saphire (Sophia)
Oceana, Charlene, Chanelle (Charlotte)
Isabeau, Isadora… Isabeth? (Isabella)
I love [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Farah[/name_f], [name_f]Soraya[/name_f], and Isadora!!
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f], [name_f]Soraya[/name_f], [name_f]Oceana[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], & Isabeth are my favorites! These are wonderful alternatives, I think!
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] are adorable
I like Isadora and Misha
Perhaps instead of Moona, one could do Muna? And Avalon in place of Ava (or even as a full name to Ava) would be lovely too.
I adore [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], and I’m not a huge fan of any of the rest personally! Though I think I could be convinced of [name_m]Elton[/name_m] and Moonie (but I think Moonie is far better as just a pet name).
For most of these I prefer the original. I don’t mind if a name is very popular. You’ve found some cool alternatives though! I personally enjoy [name_u]Misha[/name_u], [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] and [name_f]Isadora[/name_f].
I don’t mind anymore if a name is very popular either, I just don’t want to hear the same names being called out all the time haha. I’m always hearing parents say “Ava!” “Olivia!” these days lol, though they are nice names.
Thanks. I like [name_u]Misha[/name_u] too.
Yeah, Moonie might be better as a pet name.
Thank you so much! I just made Isabeth from the top of my head. I’m not sure if it’s a name or not, but I think it works.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] is gorgeous, [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] is okay, I love [name_u]Misha[/name_u] and always have, [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] and [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] are cute but I’ve always loved Sefira, I like [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] too. The other ones idk
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]- I like [name_u]Emery[/name_u]! I prefer the spelling [name_u]Emory[/name_u] but it’s still cute. It doesn’t feel like a super different alternative though cause [name_u]Emery[/name_u] still feels popular, plus it’s in the top 100 (US) for girls. It’s still a pretty name though
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]- I’ve never been a big fan of [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], reminds me of lavatory
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]- I think [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] is super cute! Feels very vintage chic to me and has a ton of cute nn’s like [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_u]Penny[/name_u].
[name_f]Farah[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Farah[/name_f]! It doesn’t ring to me as an alternative to [name_f]Ava[/name_f] but I still love the name. Also might recommend [name_u]Alba[/name_u], [name_u]Alva[/name_u] and [name_f]Viva[/name_f] as other ideas for [name_f]Ava[/name_f], also loved the idea of [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
Moona/Moonie- Much prefer just [name_f]Moon[/name_f] or something that has a moon association like [name_f]Selene[/name_f] or [name_f]Lua[/name_f]
[name_u]Misha[/name_u]- I prefer it for a boy but it’s cute! [name_f]Masha[/name_f] is another alternative
[name_m]Elton[/name_m]- Definitely leaning masc for me, I could see it maybe working though
Soraya/Saphire- I really like both! Safira/Saphira, [name_f]Sephora[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] could be some other options!
Oceana/Charlene/Chanelle- Only a fan of [name_f]Oceana[/name_f], the others I’m not too keen on, just not my style. [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] is one I like as an alternative to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
Isabeau/Isadora/Isabeth- All three are sweet! Isabeth is my fav of them, just spunky but grounded
Hmmm…
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] ~ I think this a cool idea as an alternative to [name_f]Emma[/name_f] but does Lack the classic vibe that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] has. Also [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is unisex which may put people off who are looking for a classic less gender neutral choice. I would say [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or maybe [name_u]Alma[/name_u] would be better alternatives.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] ~ love this as an alternative to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] she’s elegant shares similar sounds with the ‘v’ and the ‘l’ great alternative
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] ~ yes another fabulous alternative to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as they both have the ‘Millie’ nickname that parents love and share the ‘m’ and ‘l’ sounds.
[name_f]Farah[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Farah[/name_f] could be a stretch as an alternative to [name_f]Ava[/name_f] of course [name_f]Farah[/name_f] is lovely but in my eyes they do not share the qualities that may attract people to [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. I would say maybe [name_f]Iva[/name_f], [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], [name_u]Alva[/name_u] or [name_u]Alba[/name_u] could be more natural alternatives.
Moonie/Moona ~ I like the idea of the connection to the [name_f]Moon[/name_f] but I would prefer just [name_f]Moon[/name_f] in [name_f]England[/name_f] Moonie can mean something a little bit rude/silly. [name_u]An[/name_u] alternative to [name_f]Luna[/name_f] could be [name_f]Elara[/name_f]. Like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] she shares similar sounds with the ‘l’ and ‘a’ along with the moon connection because [name_f]Elara[/name_f] is one of the moons of [name_u]Jupiter[/name_u]
[name_u]Misha[/name_u] ~ lovely such a sweet idea! Great alternative!
[name_m]Elton[/name_m] ~ not keen I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is such a sweet girly name whereas [name_m]Elton[/name_m] is very masculine. I think an ‘Ella’ name would be pretty like [name_f]Della[/name_f] or [name_f]Nella[/name_f] or maybe even [name_u]Ellery[/name_u]
[name_f]Soraya[/name_f] & [name_f]Saphire[/name_f] ~ adore! [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] is beautiful majestic elegant I absolutely love [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] fantastic alternative. [name_f]Saphire[/name_f] (prefer Sapphire) is also wonderful. From the two I think [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] is the best alternative because of the ‘a’ ending.
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f], [name_f]Charlene[/name_f] & [name_f]Chanelle[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Charlene[/name_f] & [name_f]Chanelle[/name_f] are cool alternatives to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] I can definitely see the connection despite not being my favourite names. [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] I think is lovely but a stretch. I think [name_f]Colette[/name_f] & [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] could be cool alternatives.
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] & Isabeth ~ yes fabulous alternatives!!! [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] has the sweet femininity of [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] whereas [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] feels slightly stronger with the ‘d’ sound I also like Isabeth has a cool smoosh name.
Such a great post
Would love to see [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Milicent[/name_f], and [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] more irl!
I like [name_u]Alba[/name_u] and [name_u]Alva[/name_u] too!
Thanks.
I love [name_f]Elara[/name_f]!
Thank you.
Haha, it might not be officially, but I think it would make an absolutely lovely name!
I really like [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Farah[/name_f], [name_u]Misha[/name_u] (though I prefer Mia), [name_f]Charlene[/name_f], and (my favorite of them) [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]!
Emery (Emma) - i don’t mind emery, it has a cheerful vibe, i think i prefer emma though slightly
Lavinia (Olivia) - lavinia is pretty, i like the nickname vini to soften it up a little. i also like via as an alternative to olivia !
Milicent (Amelia) - i think this name could be lovely in the middle name spot, but a little brave for me
Farah (Ava) - i’m not sure how similar these names are, but farah is nice
Moonie/Moona (Luna) - Not completely sure of this one, but some people might find it cute)? - i couldn’t picture a kid with this name, but it would be great for a character !
Misha (Mia) - this is a pretty strict boys and dog name for me haha, maybe mira for mia instead ?
Elton (Ella) - I actually think this sounds kind of pretty in a way. - i’m not a fan personally, though willa or elva could work too ?
Soraya, Saphire (Sophia) - soraya is gorgeous, she’s on my gp list saphire/sapphire is also equally fun for the braver namer
Oceana, Charlene, Chanelle (Charlotte) - i like oceana but i struggle to pronounce it in a way that sounds similar to charlotte ?
Isabeau, Isadora… Isabeth? (Isabella) - isadora is nice, i do prefer isabella though, it has a lot of history i love
Thank you!
