WDYT of these crushes?

I recently came across (or rediscovered) these, and I’m thinking of adding them to my list in some capacity. Thoughts on them in general, or combo suggestions? HERE is a link to my list-in-progress, if you’re not familiar, so you can get an idea of my style, if you like.

[name_m]Amiel[/name_m] (vs. [name_m]Amias[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Booker[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] “[name_m]Leo[/name_m]” (do you like this any better than just [name_m]Leo[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] (like [name_u]Matisse[/name_u])
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] (I’m reading a story about a real American doctor who was a spy in WWII in [name_f]France[/name_f], and his name was [name_m]Sumner[/name_m]–it just seems so cool to me, and I love the tie to the doctor in the book! I’m thinking of [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], maybe?)
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]*
[name_m]Torin[/name_m] (or is [name_m]Thorin[/name_m] or Torben better?)

Thanks, Berries!

Anyone? :frowning:

[name_m]Amiel[/name_m]- I accidentally first read as animal and I think a lot of people will do that, I like [name_m]Amias[/name_m] though.
[name_m]Booker[/name_m]- It’s better than [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] and sounds very country, I like it just not my style.
[name_m]Leander[/name_m]- Again miss read. Much prefer just [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m].
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]- I can see a book character named this if you like literary names.
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m]- I can’t say much about this because I had a math teacher named Mrs. [name_m]Mathis[/name_m] and she was a b****.
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m]- I like this just sounds too much like [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is cute. I can definitely tell it’s a name that has to grow on you.
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]- More traditional than the rest but still isn’t really my style, I like it, though.
[name_m]Torin[/name_m]- I honestly can’t tell if I like this or not, sorry!

Out of all my favorites are [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Sumner[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], & [name_m]Booker[/name_m]; just none of them are my style.

Since I seem to comment on almost every one of your threads, I may as well on this one ;).

[name_m]Amiel[/name_m]- I think I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this, but I’m not certain on pronunciation. Ay miel or [name_m]Ah[/name_m] miel? It reminds me of one of my latest crushes, Remiel.

[name_m]Booker[/name_m]- really cool. Sounds so serious and literate to me. In a very good way.

[name_m]Leander[/name_m]- I much prefer this to [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! Gives [name_m]Leo[/name_m] a dash of excitement and energy ;).

[name_m]Linus[/name_m]- I have never been a fan of this name but I’m not completely sure why. It sounds a little snobby to me.

[name_m]Mathis[/name_m]- I love [name_u]Matisse[/name_u], so why not [name_m]Mathis[/name_m]! I think this name could potentially have a lot of pronunciation issues tho.

[name_m]Sumner[/name_m]- This is a great name and it sounds like it has great connections for you! I love how it sounds similar to summer, so it gives me that warm, sunny feel. For some reason I also get the strong imagery of the sea and ships and sailors. Very cool, imo!

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]- Spuny and cute. This is an all around good name.

[name_m]Torin[/name_m]- I love [name_m]Torin[/name_m] but I also love [name_m]Thorin[/name_m]. I can never decide between the two! Both have great nicknames ([name_f]Torey[/name_f] and [name_m]Thor[/name_m]). The only drawback on these names for me are their similarities to the words torn and thorn.

  • I think I like [name_m]Amiel[/name_m] better than [name_m]Amias[/name_m].
  • I really like the sound of [name_m]Leander[/name_m]!
  • [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a great combo. I personally am not a fan of [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] in general, but I think it works well in that combo.
  • I can’t decide whether or not I like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]… I guess, in the right combo, I would like it.
  • [name_m]Thorin[/name_m] is the best of the three, imo.

[name_m]Amiel[/name_m] - I really like this and it sounds way better than [name_m]Amias[/name_m]. I dont see how it could be mistaken with “animal” as a pp said. What is it pronounced like? I do prefer [name_m]Emil[/name_m] to it if it’s pronounced like it
[name_m]Booker[/name_m] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] makes me think “booger”
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] “[name_m]Leo[/name_m]” - I do like it more than [name_m]Leo[/name_m], I prefer long names with nicknames for personal reasons. It is very dated where I live so idk what to think. Have you considered [name_m]Leonid[/name_m]/[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m]?
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] - I love this name, it’s on my list! It reminds me of the Peanuts character and has a very nice vibe to it. It could be a nice alternative to [name_m]Lance[/name_m]
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] (like [name_u]Matisse[/name_u]) - I dont like this tbh,I much prefer [name_m]Mathias[/name_m]. It makes me think of Maltesers or Maltese dogs
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] - It just looks like [name_f]Summer[/name_f] to me
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] - A grandpa name to me
[name_m]Torin[/name_m] (or is [name_m]Thorin[/name_m] or Torben better?) - I really like all 3 names, but I think my favorite is [name_m]Thorin[/name_m] because it has the sweet sound of [name_m]Torin[/name_m] but it’s more masculine

Likes:

[name_m]Amias[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] - I slightly prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m] but I think [name_m]Leander[/name_m] is handsome
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] - There’s a town here called this but I think it’d make an interesting name choice
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Thorin[/name_m] - suggestion: [name_m]Torsten[/name_m]? [name_m]Theron[/name_m]?

Dislikes:

[name_m]Amiel[/name_m] - sounds off to me, like a smush sort of name, and has more feminine sound to it, sort of like [name_f]Amy[/name_f]-[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_m]Booker[/name_m] - makes me think of the slang “book it”
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] - not my style
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] - It’s okay but doesn’t shine to me

[name_m]Amiel[/name_m] - This is really interesting, but I’m not sure it’s better than [name_m]Amias[/name_m] (one of my GPs.)
[name_m]Booker[/name_m] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like this.
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] “[name_m]Leo[/name_m]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], not so much. Not really any reasons. Also [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is my neighbor’s dog’s name, well nn his name is [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m]. I mean he’s a nice dog, but it hasn’t helped my perception of the name any.
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] - NMS.
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] (like [name_u]Matisse[/name_u]) - It’s pronounced [name_u]Matisse[/name_u]? As in the artist? If so I like it, but spelled [name_m]Mathis[/name_m] I think you would have a lot of problems in the US.
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] (I’m reading a story about a real American doctor who was a spy in WWII in [name_f]France[/name_f], and his name was [name_m]Sumner[/name_m]–it just seems so cool to me, and I love the tie to the doctor in the book! I’m thinking of [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], maybe?) - It’s intriguing, but it makes me think of [name_m]Fort[/name_m] Sumter.
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] - Really dislike it spelled this way, just so grizzly and also the [name_m]Elmo[/name_m] association. Somehow [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] doesn’t give me the same feeling - no idea why.
[name_m]Torin[/name_m] - I much prefer [name_m]Thorin[/name_m] to this. It seems very abrupt. And for some reason I feel inclined to use a British accent???

I really like [name_m]Amias[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Mathis[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Torin[/name_m]
