I’ve been crushing on a brand new wave of boys’ names (again!), and I could use some opinions! WDYT of these?
[name_u]Pax[/name_u] (just [name_u]Pax[/name_u])
[name_m]Bayard[/name_m] (recently read a novel with a [name_m]Bayard[/name_m] as the main character, and it really stuck with me! I really like it, and love the nn [name_u]Bay[/name_u])
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] (again, [name_u]Bay[/name_u]! [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]'s an old favorite, and I found myself missing him)
[name_u]Addison[/name_u]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u]/[name_u]Gray[/name_u] (in honor of my grandma, whose mn is [name_f]Grace[/name_f])
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
Anyway. WDYT of the crushes? Any you’d keep? I know they heavily lean on the unisex/softer side, but I’ve long been a huge fan of unisex names on boys, and I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
I really like [name_m]Bayard[/name_m]! I have no idea how I never thought of [name_u]Gray[/name_u] as a way to honor a [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I’m totally stealing that idea
I’m not a fan of most common unisex names so [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Addison[/name_u], & [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] have very little appeal to me.
@namenerd2000 - yeah, I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Link[/name_m], either, but I really like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]!
@honeysunday - haha, feel free. I have [name_u]Grey[/name_u] all over my list for her, but it’s generally as a MN. I prefer [name_u]Grey[/name_u] as either a nn or a mn, but I don’t like any of the full names for it, it seems ([name_m]Grayson[/name_m], Grayer, [name_m]Graham[/name_m], Gratian, Grayden, etc., etc.).
Anyone else? Between [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] and [name_m]Bayard[/name_m], which would you pick?
I love [name_u]Bailey[/name_u],[name_u]Grey[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u],and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. I knew a man called [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], and he was very sweet, so I associate the name with a nice person. [name_m]Bayard[/name_m] sounds like [name_m]Baird[/name_m], as in the bread company.
Personally, I would use all except [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. [name_f]El[/name_f]- names are too popular
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] & [name_u]Grey[/name_u] are favorites of mine
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] is so handsome & underrated
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Bayard[/name_m] but pronunciation could be an issue. With my accent it’s two syllables, ‘bay-yawd’ but some say it as one syllable ‘baird’. It you like ‘baird’, I’d go with [name_m]Baird[/name_m] or [name_m]Bayrd[/name_m]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] is handsome. My best friend as a child was [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] (girl) and everyone pronounced it ‘bail-lee’ so the nn [name_u]Bay[/name_u] seems odd to me. The ‘bay-lee’ pronunciation is nice too
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is handsome & solid but it’s just OK. Same feelings on [name_u]Pax[/name_u]. Nice names but not thrilled by them
I like [name_u]Addison[/name_u] but I’m growing tired of -son names. Plus the over saturation of [name_u]Madison[/name_u] makes it lose some of it’s charm
As for [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] vs [name_m]Bayard[/name_m], it depends on pronunciation. I like ‘bay-yawd’ but if you’re going with ‘baird’, I prefer [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]. [name_m]Bayard[/name_m] will age better but feels heavy on anyone under 40. The nn [name_u]Bay[/name_u] solves that problem. [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] is more youthful and won’t age as well but it’s perfectly fine on a grown man. Again, the nn [name_u]Bay[/name_u] could be a more mature option when he’s older
